“Went fishing here on July 2nd. Spent two hours (6am-8am)on the dock near the road and didn’t catch anything, not even a bite. I did see two HUGE snapping turtles. Walked the trail to the far dock and got a decent sized large mouth bass on my first cast. Nothing for about an hour so I switch to a smaller spinner bait and pulled in a couple blue gill by the dock.”

“The island provides not only a spectacular view on Boston, but also a unique history - from a dumping site to a recreation area. Check out their exhibit and - especially when you have kids - join their free guided walks to the beach.”

“Great for a day trip. The walking trails are well kept and there are gazebos that provide sitting areas and drinking water. The visitor center is staffed with rangers to answer questions and everyone on the island is very nice. There is a beach and changing rooms so quite a few people came to swim at the beach. Plenty of dock space for boats as well. There is a snack shack called Saltys which we did not order from because we bought sandwiches on the boat. The family agreed it was a nice day!”

“I went there with fellow employees on a company visit. It's a nice island just outside Boston with great view of the city and helpful staff. They have big fields to play football, volleyball and other activities. There are some good trails to hike as well.”

“All-season restrooms, diverse winter sea birds off the fishing pier, and a good spot for airplane watching. Three mile walk and run loop is great!! (Closed to bikes but you can lock your bike and walk the loop.) Burgers and fried seafood available only in summer. Nice place to enjoy the ocean and views of the Harbor islands.”

“Very nice beach with beautiful view of the city and the Boston Logan Airport. Went there in the winter, and it was deserted and very peaceful. The sand was clean, with is always a plus. There is convenient parking and accessible facilities. Would love to go back again!”
