“Waterfall Park is a small park in Bass Pro Lake with access to Independence greenway. Despite the name, there isn't a waterfall in the park itself, though it's not far. To see the waterfall, head south from the park to East Bluff Drive and follow the road east a short ways to the waterfall. The westbound lane, closest to the lake is closed to vehicular traffic, so safe to walk in the road. You could also see the waterfall by driving eastbound on East Bluff Drive.”

“One of my favorite parks in town! Great trail through the wooded area!”

“This is the best access to the Wagon Loop Trail from E Blue Ridge Blvd. Although not marked, it's easy to find as it's just east of the bridge as shown in the photo. Once on the trail, head south and you will see the sign shown in the second photo. The west branch, next to the river, is very easy to follow. The east branch is clear to follow, but sometimes one loop section of the eastern branch almost connects to the another loop section. Also, the eastern branch merges with a high line utility road at the southern end. Keep to the right of the road to pick the trail up again. This is a beautiful area and I saw a Gray Heron above the river. I parked across the bridge in the Blue River Park (Brown Athletic Area). As of May 28, 2018, ticks were bad in the area. So, take precautions.”

“This is a great facility. The fields are in good shape and drain water well. The grass, dugouts and seating is well kept. The playground and walking trail are very nice as well and makes this a great park for a walk or just a place to let the kids burn off some energy.”

“This is a nice man made lake. They have a marina where you can rent boats or get some bait. They have a wide variety of boats. There is two main boat ramps with docks. They have a good size Swimming area. You can find a lot of nice spots to go fishing on shore or in a boat. They have bicycle riding trails and walking trials. They have shelter houses with picknik tables and bbq grills.”

“Beautiful scenery and awesome trails that wind all through the woods. There are plenty of places to feel secluded but you're never too far from a road and despite there being several tougher trails there's always an easy alternative close by. There's hikers and bikers that share the trails so in some areas you'll have to move over occasionally to let a biker through. In my experience everyone is very nice and nobody has tried to run us down. Great place to get some exercise and take in some beautiful sights.”

“My family and I wanted to get out the house and participate in a physical activity before Thanksgiving dinner. We decided to check out this discs golf course for fun. It was my first time playing in a while and the course was great for rusting players/beginners. I can't wait to visit the William Yates Elementary course again!”

“I walk my german shepherd about 3 miles to this park a few times a week and I love it. It's usually clean. There is a shelter and probably 8 tables on a concrete patio. A couple of grills (that probably need cleaned) and a jungle gym. Plus a ton of field-which is why I love this park to play fetch and let my shepherd run.”

“Great well maintained trails. The river trails are pretty easy. If you are more into technical trails you can go into the hills. There are some really technical sections and some fast rolling sections. While these are primarily maintained by mountain bikes, they're open to hikers too.”
