There's also a carousel and a lot of vendors selling italian ice and frozen treats around the park. I imagine that the trees would look beautiful in the fall or after a it snows in the winter too. “Beautiful little park by the water that’s super clean! It’s really nice walk with some small cherry blossom trees. It has a nice walking path, playground, basketball court, and dog park. There’s also some planted flowers that add a nice touch. The view of Manhattan and the bridge from here is absolutely stunning. There’s a bunch of food trucks as well along the park on the street side so you can grab a snack. There was a good amount of people there this Friday afternoon but didn’t feel crowded. It’s a nice spot to come relax and enjoy LIC and admire Manhattan & city life. There’s good restaurants too nearby as well as a good bakery. Definitely worth a visit 😎”

Park

“I put a plate of water for the squirrels because it hasn't been raining in New York for months. The grass in the park is completely dry. One day the cleaning service threw the plate away. I asked them to give this plate back. One of them was merciful to the squirrels and gave me back the plate. The second one told me they had to throw everything in the trash because their boss would be angry. Park management should think about it and give water, especially for squirrels. Birds fly, they will find water for themselves. Please tell cleaning service not to throw away the plate of water for squirrels. This a picture squirrel who drink water.”

Harwood Haven Inc

Address: 8764 NY-98, Franklinville, NY 14737, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Hardwood Haven Campground is breath taking. We rented a cabin for 4 nights. The cabin we rented was clean and spacious offering a kitchen area equipped with stove, refrigerator sink and microwave. The second story has bed frames perfect for any sized inflatable mattress and is roomy. The front of cabin has a covered porch allowing us to enjoy the view of this areas beauty. There is a bathroom in our cabin and two shower houses on grounds. The shower houses were clean and easy to use. We met several of the seasonal campers and the owners. Everyone was very friendly pointing out their personal favorites of the campground they call their summer home. The owners are very passionate about their grounds keeping every area neat and in good repair. I had the pleasure of talking with Kim and John, the owners, finding them to be very pleasant, down to earth people. We were fortunate to be invited to participate in their flea and craft show event on Saturday meeting several of the area locals and other crafters that share a passion for their choice of artistic abilities. It was fun to set up a small table of my handmade ceramics and join this event. Thank you Harwood Haven for a very pleasant stay.”

Stonewall National Monument

Pictures on the fence and 2 sets of statues at the park site. Also an App can be used to scan a bar code for more info at the park. Park was nice and shady. Great place to rest your feet. All worth a look if you're into history. This location is historical.”

Starr Playground

“Great place for kids. New basketball courts are nice. Plenty of shade. Playground equipment needs updating and there should be some swings for older kids.”

Hell's Kitchen Park

Address: 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036, USA

Park

“Edit, 06.28.2022 - looks like Google finally corrected the name of this park. Old review: The name of this park is Hell's Kitchen Park, not Lorraine Hansberry. I've tried to post the edit twice but Google keeps saying that it can't be verified, even though the name is clear on the parks department website, and on the park signage. There was a brief movement to rename it, but community pushback didn't want to lose the name Hell's Kitchen Park. There is a plaza diagonally across 10th Ave which will instead be named for Lorraine Hansberry. But I wish Google could get the name of this park correct. It's iconic in the neighborhood.”

Freshkills Park (North Mound)

Address: Staten Island, NY 10314, USA

Park

“Absolutely magnificent”

Boston Forest County Park Trailhead

Address: Boston, NY 14025, USA

Veterans' Memorial Park

Address: 7000 Lockport Rd, Niagara Falls, NY 14305, USA

Park

“My family has always enjoyed visiting this park. It has a nice walking/bike path through a wooded area. There is fishing pond with a newly built wooden deck walkway. They have pavilions available to rent for various occasions. There is a playground and splash pad. The splash pad was under repair this season, but hopefully it's up and running again next year. They have a newly built putt-putt golf area, that I hope to see open next spring. During the summer months they held the Music Mania Mondays concert series with a variety of different bands. During concerts they had local food vendors. It's a very versatile park, I can't wait to see it when the new improvements are finished!”
