“I drove from Yonkers, NY to spend time with family and friends. It's a nice little park. The kids played basket ball, ran aroumd, and played in the water. The water was too low to swim. Maybe later in the summer when it's officially open the water gets better. There were branches amd other debris from the trees everywhere in the water. But all in all I loved the small, quiet small town feel. Will definitely go back.”

“Man I was in Troop 97 from Leonardo/ Atlantis Highlands NJ. Had a great time there in the summer in the early 70s. We did a winter camp and it was 18 below with 3 foot of ice on the lake and about that much snow and here we are in a tent, with straw and newspapers as a floor with a tarp over that. We would throw bricks in the fire and pull them out to put in our sleeping bags by our feet. I only went that one time in the winter. A few of us ended up in the lodge after midnight with a bunch of other scouts laying on tables around the huge fire place and I had good boots where some just had converses on there feet...What a blast...Now I live in Austin Tx”

“What a nice little park! Rope climbing, slides, swings galore. Lots of trees and picnic benches sprinkled around. My 1 year old had a great time, and I’m sure will grow to love it more as she gets more independent.”

“Beautiful views of the Hudson and the bridge, fun playground and swing set, and the spot for Sloop Club festivals. We have had birthday parties there and it's just a perfect vibe. Not usually crowded. A gem of Beacon.”

“Had an absolutely wonderful time here relaxing and enjoining the outdoors... The camp ground is really peaceful... our site was # 84 . The staff is limited but friendly and helpful.....the grounds are kept in a natural state. HOWEVER..... the restrooms/showers are horrendous... they didn’t seem to get used by other campers much and they still were dirty. It doesn’t seem like much effort is put into maintaining a clean or updated bathroom facility or game room. ** But this definitely Will Not stop me from coming back because it’s such a laid back and peaceful place.. My suggestion is to prepare for a more primitive camping experience when it comes to showering and using the bathroom...there is running water on all the sites... just make sure to run it a bit before using due to the sulfur smell(well water). A camping shower & camping toilet highly recommended if you’re tent camping.Other than that.... prepare to have a lovely time in here.”

“Large park with a decent sized dog park. The people there were really friendly. At the time, there were about 10 other dogs. All of them were friendly. My dog had a great time and even made some friends. The dog park is divided into a small dog and large dog park. There are dog waste bags there but just bring some in case. I hope you have as much fun as we did and I highly recommend this park for anyone.”

“This park is built on the original site of the Haldane Central School. If you are a toddler, when you come here you will think you are in TOY HEAVEN ! This is a repository for toys of all shapes and kinds! There are more toys that have wheels, than you could shake a stick at. In 1997, the park was a center of local controversy, as the Village of Cold Spring, wanted to cut all the trees near the park down, their justification was a recomdation from their Insurance company. The Village refused to disclose the documents, and a lawsuit ensued. At that time, Adolf Philips was mayor. In the Summer of 2018 the park got a new fence. The funding for the park came from The Philipstown Community Council,in 1991, which was led by the late Mrs. Edith Nelson. I knew Mrs. Nelson well, as I worked for her husband, the late Professor Glenn C. Nelson for many years, when I was a teenager.”

“Unbelievable place. I went here in October and the trees were just starting to change. It was such a peaceful and tranquil experience. Hardly any people around! So many places tucked throughout the gardens where you can sit and relax and ponder life. It is the ideal place to stroll around and listen to birds and soak up the oxygen. I loved the greenhouses too! Especially the one with the succulents and cacti. They clearly care about plants and flowers here. I can't wait to come back in Spring. My happy place. Wish it was closer to home (in NYC).”
