Each time it cost less than the quote from Thayer, but the problem always returned. She ended up spending a lot more and the problem was still there 18 months later (plus three times into a shop). Fixed by Thayer and several years passed with no issues. My grandfather and father used to say "the cheapest option often costs you the most". Keep that in mind when comparing quotes.
