Doctor Health Campground Park Lodging

“We had an awesome time staying at this campground. The gate attendant was nice and friendly, and the place was well kept and clean (including the bathrooms). The views from our site were stunning. Most of the sites are situated on the lake, so there is always a picturesque view of the lake like when you wake up in the morning or just anytime of the day. Each RV campsite has a picnic table with benches, barbecue grill, fire pit, water and electric hookups. Plus you cannot beat their rates. There is no sewer hookup, but the dump station is located prior to the exit gate at the front. We truly enjoyed our stay here in that we already made plans to visit this place again.”

California Woods Nature Preserve

Address: 5400 Kellogg Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230, USA

Park

“I’ve been waiting a while to review California Woods because I wanted to have the right words to express how much I love this place. It’s kind of out of the way for a lot of people I think, which means there’s never too many people here. I like it that way because you can always come here to enjoy solitude. A lot of parks I go to don’t have trees that are very large. This place has massive trees. They make me feel so small and evoke a sense of wonder in me. There is a such depth to the topography as well. The high ridges and deep ravines create this sense of contrast of altitude which makes the forest seem so expansive, while the canopy above makes it feel like sanctuary. It’s so nourishing for the soul. And if you have the chance, walk the meadow trail to see the big wild meadow where hummingbirds, dragonflies and butterflies abound. It’s magical! Also, walk across the rocks and pause to hear the babbling brook. There’s so much variety hear. I couldn’t fit it all into one review.”

Scioto Grove Metro Park

Address: 5172 Jackson Pike, Grove City, OH 43123, USA

Park

“Did the 2 mile REI River Trail. The trail is great. You can find it on All Trails to follow the trail loops. Lucky for us it had not rained in a while so the trails were dry and well marked. But I can see how they would be muddy and covered with rains and if the river would flow over. So keep that in mind. There is a lot of parking, bathrooms, play area for kids and ample picnic areas. There were a few fire pit areas that would be nice to use. Stopped to enjoy each overlook we came to. Those were a nice touch. Planning on returning in the season to do the longer 5 mile trail (4.9 miles). I recommend you check this out. We went on a Sunday around 11am and there weren’t many people there so it was really relaxing and nice. Our only sad part was all of the trash. The river overflows and deposits all of the trash (mostly plastic) all over the landscape. It was so sad and makes me want to being a trash bag with us the next time to pick up what we can reach.”

“I haven't been to Buckeye Lake in awhile. I've heard about the improvements concerning the dam and around the boat launches.I also heard about a walking/bike path on the north shore. I went today and walked about halfway and back.I am very impressed by the improvements and happy that an actual pathway that is paved was added. It's 4 miles from the north shore boat launch to Sellers Point. It offers views of the lake that you couldn't see before and you can see how much was put into erosion control on the shoreline.”

I was getting tired of taking pills. When Coach Greta had the 30 day challenge to walk 30 minutes a day. I took on that challenge. It was hard at first, then it got easy. Yes I was able to make it. Months past when she came home to care for her mom. Had a talk with her about my health. When my next appointment came up I had a long talk with my doctor. She stopped a lot of my meds. Greta told me about all the toxin that can build up in your body. She was right. Thank you for being a voice for the people. I appreciate you so much for your wisdom and knowledge. Thank you Mind Body Soul Shift.”

Hampton Hills Metro Park

Address: 2925 Akron Peninsula Rd, Akron, OH 44313, USA

Park

“I had never been to this park, so we decided to not do the longest path. The path is rated "difficult". That seems appropriate. We took our time, the path was well marked. There were a few, but very few, signs of Spring. There was one area that holly trees were present providing a bit of encouraging green. There was also an area where wild rose was prevalent. Otherwise, there were a few small animals like chipmunks, squirrels, a few assorted various songbirds. The two things that stood out to me were a number of path areas were covered with sand to facilitate drainage and to avoid muddy patches and also a lot of drainage cuts made on the inclines to again facilitate drainage. The path was mostly well cared for and clear of debris. There was one low area that we had to cross a shallow stream. I would suggest taking a walking stick along to cross it and to maintain your balance on the steeper declines of the path. Keep in mind that I am in good physical condition, but I turn 67 tomorrow. Younger people passed us up and they kept up a quicker pace. So, keep this in mind as you read this review. Our visit to Hampton was late March 2021. Enjoy!”

Warren County Armco Park

“We love this park! They have golf, foot golf, basketball, tennis, soccer, fishing, boating, wooded walking trails and shelters to house events. They also have a pavilion for larger, indoor events. They have numerous playgrounds and recently added a natural playground (think Native American playground). If they would just add a dog park area it would be perfect. Boat rentals and fishing licenses are cheap too!”
