“This is a lovely little Japanese style garden within a larger city park. I had never been here before and we went for an early father's day. It's beautiful. You can spend 5 minutes or a couple of hours just sitting and thinking. Parking is nearby. I will be going again.”

“Excellent trail, bring camera and water. Restroom not so close though. During weekend there will be several runners so make sure you won't block all the lane. And please be careful at the parking. Don't let stuff at sight, broken windows to steal is quite common.”

“Gilbert heights City Park is a great park in the community to bring your children to play at the playground. It has two kid playgrounds. One for toddlers and one for children 7 and up located in the same area. This park also has tennis courts, basketball courts, a beautiful yellow rose garden and a baseball field. The community center has vendor machine to get snacks as well. Enjoy”

“This park is great to walk or run laps and for the kids to play. There always dogs too. They have recently planted trees and are doing some things to make it even nicer.”

“I have a plot here and have been gardening here for several years. The community garden program emphasizes the production of fresh food for the gardeners. Everything is organic. The fun includes sharing with other people.”

“Its a nice little park just on the the other side or the sound barrier wall on Going St. Thdres a walkover bridge that goes over going from the Overlook side. A nice park to kids and dogs for a walk not a lot of traffic racing up and down the street. A peaceful park.”

“we brought our two preschoolers for a nice family hike, and as evidenced by other reviews and photos it was beautiful. unfortunately we encountered a loose dog without an owner present on the trail that ended our adventure early. the residue of needles and camps left me feeling a little too on edge to really enjoy it with young ones. we passed single hikers, and parents with older children, so this park may just be better suited to older visitors.”

“Brought the family out to get some nature. This trail was nice and open with less and of a crowd then the nearby Wildwood attracts. We only saw 3 people on a Saturday. It was a bit wet and slippery in places. And ended up being too hilly for a 3 yr old. Lots of ferns and trees to enjoy.”

“Pretty cool little trailhead. It serves the Springwater trail about 5 miles east of I205 and about 7 miles westish of Boring (double check for exact distances). Nearby are safeway and Walmart neighborhood market if you need last minute snacks or drinks. The section of trail is beautiful with lots of shade and running along a stream (Johnson Creek i think), particularly to the east. In the evening rabbits and deer can frequently be spotted, for a small dose of adorable wild life. Two miles east is main city park with a small Japanese garden and picnic facilities. There are frequently seen illicit camps just off the trail, but I've never been accosted. Still, would recommend a buddy and only daylight hours. The trail head has a small parking lot, and I've never seen it full, so it does the job. The Trailhead does have bathrooms, but they've been closed and marked closed for the season, most likely due to covid, but I'm not positive. The Walmart nearby has customer restrooms. Enjoy and happy hiking/biking/blading/and other skating.”

“Rental went smooth, got the rig I asked for, no surprise charges, very easy check in and check out. The gal during check in (didn't catch her name, she was back with braids, but I suppose there could be more than one) was super sweet and professional, and did a good job. My only complaint is when I first called the new manager had a bit of a curt tone and seemed stressed. He could take a tip from the Hood River manager (who is always so friendly) on customer service tone in hospitality business. But he did get me the vehicle I wanted which is the most important thing. I would use them again.”

“I have a toddler and a 5 year old so I really appreciate the fact that the playground and splash-pad are so close together so that I don't have to keep getting up and moving from place to place whenever one of my kids decides to change locations. I was able to lay a blanket down on the grass in the shade and stay there the whole time. Really comfortable, super laid-back atmosphere, not too many people. The park was really big... Much bigger than I expected for a small neighborhood park. The main drawback was how many bees there were on the grass with those little white flowers all over the place. Definitely not a place to be barefoot. Overall pretty clean, although I didn't use the bathroom on site, so can't speak for the overall cleanliness.”

“It had been maybe 6 or 7 years since we walked at Powell Butte and returned to find it better than we remembered. Meadow grasses had matured and paths we're in great condition. The steeper trails on the forested back corner were appreciated for variety and a decent workout to boot. Really felt like we had left Portland behind for somewhere very different. An added bonus, due to the topography, the summit loop path is shielded from the traffic noise below making this a sound refuge as well. Ahhh...”
