“Perfect spot to relax and to get out of the city. The parking is convenient, there is an entrance fee of $12.00. The chairs and umbrella are for rent for $35.00. The beach staff goes around collecting the money, so just pick whichever place you want to sit and a staff member will come to you.The chairs and umbrellas are picked up at 5:30pm, so be sure to spend some time there to get your money's worth if you rent. Otherwise, stop at Academy to pick up some chairs.”

“All around nice place. The one guy who is at the desk is very nice and helpful. The spots have water, electrical, and sewer. Very close the ocean for ease of access. One downside is there is minimal to no enforcement of the rules. But we have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy going again.”

“We loved it! It was so peaceful.. all the workers are very friendly, the pool and lazy river were clean, sites are well kept and spacious, the gift shop had a lot of cute stuff and just about everything you could need. This was our first time staying on the west end and we did not regret it! The margaritas you can get st the office/gift shop were delicious. This place is great for literally all ages. We will be back!”

“Interesting historical place. If you go to Galveston and have time, definitely check it out. There was literally no one here when I went. Lots of green grass and great pictures by the gulf. Cool place to go to relax and the history behind the fort is also very interesting.”

“Great park in the daytime. Lots of Naval memorabilia to tour. Fishing 24 hours. Sometimes great fishing both along the bulkhead and on the nice lighted pier. They do charge admission but, it is not expensive. Overall it is a good place to have a good time with the family.”

“If you like history, it is a nice park to visit. Disappointed we couldn't get inside any of the bunkers and fort. They could do a better job setting up the self guided tour with more information boards with smaller amounts of information pertinent to where you are on the grounds versus a few boards with general information about the entire park. Be prepared to walk.”

“The Galveston ferry is free of charge it's a fun ride for the kids and most days the dolphins are out feeding and you can get some great pictures. Have fun but try to go during the week because of the long lines boarding. Its still worth the ride.”

“Very Affordable so Five stars for that. But 1 Star for all of the Parks Maintenance and Lay out... even the web site is Hard to navigate. As far as the Parks..."Buried in Mosquitoes" you can't be outside right before dark or early morning. Something else it is odd there are no lights in the parks. And the state of Texas Marquee for the state park entrance to the Bay sides there's no names or lights on... Now if you're from out of town you have no idea what it is. You have to be very observant to what little signs they do have. I'm proud to say we are from East Texas and our little of Tyler state park is a beautiful place and well kept and groomed. And almost all the other state parks we have visited are lighted Gates Entrance. I can't understand why they do not have it lit up with lights they have electricity. Some one in upper management not doing a very good Job@”
