Pretty gross but we still had a good walk!!”

I consider this a dream place. Don't forget, it is connected to Cherokee Marsh Mendota Unit, which is just as magical. You can get to it from Meadow Ridge simply by walking across Sauthoff Road where you will see the Cherokee Marsh trail head. We are lucky to have this place. Please keep it clean! Prairie Moraine County Park

“Great big dog park, perfect for taking a walk on the trails and letting your dog(s) off leash and follow along. Dogs here tend to be well behaved and their people nice. Would avoid this one if your dog doesn't have good recall- it's all fenced in but HUGE so you'd struggle getting them back. The place is well maintained and all in all a great place to go with your dogs.”

Goose Lake Drumlins State Natural Area

Lake Kegonsa State Park

Address: 2405 Door Creek Rd, Stoughton, WI 53589, USA

Park

“A great state park for beginner hikers, dog walkers (on-leash) and kids due to the two playgrounds and sandy beach with swimming opportunities. It certainly wouldn’t be in my list of top choices for hiking landscape and variety, elevation, or breathtaking views but it is still a nice park with plenty of flat Prairie and wooded trails. There is a pet swim area, boat launch, plenty of rudimentary camper slots, shelters, grills, and horseshoe pits. It would likely only take 2-3 hours to hike every trail and see each edge of this park.”

Quarry Ridge Recreation Area

Address: 2740 Fitchrona Rd, Fitchburg, WI 53711, USA

Park

“The trails here have more features and diversity than most other parks in the area. I'd recommend coming here over CamRock and alpine valley, especially if you're a beginner. Photos were taken on Three Sisters”

Aldo Leopold Nature Center

Address: 330 Femrite Dr, Monona, WI 53716, USA

Park

“We had our wedding at Aldo Leopold Nature Center, and it was more than we ever could have imagined. We love nature and love supporting youth in the outdoors - the prairie and building were absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting for our outdoor wedding. We’re so honored to have been married here and so thankful to those who helped make it happen. We want to give special thanks to Ben & Duncan. We had no idea how to plan a wedding, nor any comprehension of how stressful it would end up being. No matter how chaotic and overwhelmed we felt, they were both there with us through every step of the process. Over hundreds of emails, phone calls and in-person visits, your patience and kindness eased every question and doubt we had throughout the planning and event. Without you both, our wedding day would never have been possible. Thank you for making our wedding day one of the most cherished days of our lives. Aldo Leopold will forever have a special place in our hearts.”
