“We stayed there last summer. We felt safe and people were very nice. We didn't use the showers, but they were clean. The laundry area was also very clean and everything worked. The office and maintenance staff were awesome. We were parked directly across from the fire department. They do go out OFTEN, but we didn't have a big problem with the noise. Our complaint was the trucking company across the street. That was VERY noisy, but we were only four spaces from the street. The WIFI was awesome! So was cable. We just had to purchase a cable and got all the channels we wanted. I highly recommend this campground. We'll be going back this summer.”

“This secluded camping spot is the ideal getaway if you want to escape the crowds. Travel up a somewhat rugged truck trail to get there--I was able to do it in my Volvo. The unobstructed views of Mount Baldy on one side and San Bernadino Valley to the other make this camp site one of a kind, for sure. However, because this area is a legal shooting range, people come in to shoot bottles and whatever else they can find, then leave the broken glass, garbage and shells all over the ground. I'm glad I didn't bring my dog because his paws would've been destroyed. It was the last thing I would expect up there. We cleaned up as much as we could, but they'll be back and undo whatever we did. The PCT runs right through the site, so you can hop on and get some great miles in before you turn back and get right into camp. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is that it is pretty exposed to both sun and wind. That area is prone to high winds and when they hit, be ready. There are not bathrooms, fire rings or benches here--carry in, carry out.”

“The campgrounds are clean. We did RV camping. It was not full service. They had water to fill up and dump station. It was $20.00 per night. We took our two dogs, they must be on leashes. We had a great experience for our first time. We enjoy the fact you can camp RV and tents on the same area. They have drive through camping sites for boats also. There is an additional fee of $11.00 for parking at the Lake for the day.”

“This boat ramp is simple, affordable, and friendly people are around. It's a little local spot with no amenities, but that's fine by me. ”

“Sara and Nick are amazing! From their work ethics to their desire to make your stay comfortable. Truly appreciate all you've done as well as allowing us to extend our stay at the last minute. Sites are a bit close together but people are very friendly. As others have mentioned, it has a community atmosphere rather than a typical RV park. Since most residents seem to work at Iataan, the park is very quiet during the day. Laundry equipment was quickly replaced when broken. Loved the sunsets over the lake, the prayer garden, the cats and yes, even Daisy.”

“Okay, so I went on a kayaking trip with two friends after graduating college and they saved our butts. We started at Kelly's Ford and we're attempting to make it to Motts Run in two days. It's probably very doable if you're just paddling. We were fishing and camping as well. Needless to say, we didn't get anywhere near far enough and after two days only made it as far as the outfitters/campground. We had a novice kayaker with us who took a couple of spills with one being serious and wanted to just stop and get out at the campground. I got out on some private property that I mistook for the campground just before the campgrounds kayak launch and hiked through the woods on the gravel road for maybe 30 minutes to an hour trying to find someone to help me get back to my vehicle at Motts Run. Finally I came up to the Rappahannock River Outfitters and met Ryan. He was a complete blessing and helped me get back to my friends and get to the kayak launch at the campground. By sheer luck, his wife ended up bringing my friend and I back to our truck on her way to work back in town. I couldn't believe how gracious they both were and how lucky I was to be helped by them both. A huge storm was about two hours behind us and had we not got off the river we may have been seriously injured or even killed. I don't think I can ever repay them but I can share this experience. They are SUPER knowledgeable about the river and what you need to fish it. They know where to camp and have the equipment to make a great trip. They know what the fish are hitting on and where to stop and fish at. I wish I would have called them before starting on my trip. It would have been the world of difference. Thank you Ryan for all your help and for being so kind. I can't wait to see you again when I schedule my next trip to through you!”

“We LOVE Rappahannock River Campground! My husband and I got a bunch of friends and family together there for a reunion and we had a great time. The grounds are beautiful and you can camp right alongside the Rappahannock River -- plenty of soft spots for tents. There are picnic tables and fire pits, and they sell firewood there so you don't have to pack that or worry about collecting it. The outhouse is nice and clean (and close to get to, but it doesn't detract from the natural scenery). There is potable water readily available, and even showers if you want. I had the best experience with the owner, Steve, from beginning to end. He was easy to get ahold of and answered all my questions. He made sure that our large group had everything we needed, and he was super friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to having our reunion there again next year!”

So, I'll have to post again after the wedding. We did get to wander around and check out all the various tree houses to include the Hobbit House. Pretty cool.”
