Wheat State Retreat Center

Address: 11105 SW 86th St, Augusta, KS 67010, USA

Campground Park Lodging Health

“Was there for kids camp this last week. It was great! The services were good, the salad bar was amazing. The grounds have a lot of fun things to do. Glow in the dark dodgeball, rock climbing wall, 9 square in the air, Gaga ball, some carpet ball tables that could use a little bit of updating. The pond has the blob which is great, a makeshift water slide that isn't amazing, but works for kids. The swimming area works well and they have kayaks and paddle boats as well. Some of the cabins could use some updating, but there are just so many that it makes it hard to do them all. All of the cabins have air conditioning and lots of bunk room. I believe the camp can hold a little over 500. It's not the newest, most up to date retreat center around, but it's a good affordable option for most people looking for a place in the area.”

Mission Springs PCT Trail Camp

Address: Angelus Oaks, CA 92305, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Beautiful place to camp with a cool, clear, running spring. I backpacked in from Hwy. 38 and saw a number of Pacific Crest Trail thru hikers who also spent the night there. There are some metal horse corals, a few with shade and a gravity fed water trough on the others side of the campground. I came back and stayed 3 nights in July and there was still water in the springs and a lot of wild flowers everywhere.”

BR@TT - Brazos River at Tin Top RV Camp

Address: 2130 Old Tin Top Rd, Weatherford, TX 76087, USA

Campground Rv park Park Lodging

“Hidden GEM!! As first time visitors, we were blown away! It's like having a secret riverside get-away, in the middle of gorgeous Texas Equine country. Tucked away off an old county road; horses graze just across the driveway, Guineas roam the lawn & you're only 15 mins from Granbury & Weatherford; ( ie: groceries, gas, Lowe's Etc)Nights are dark, and so quiet, you can hear coyotes from farms away. It's dark enough to see falling stars, often. The owners, kind hearted, genuine, well spoken and just a true joy to be around. It's hard to believe the park is less than 2 years old. I mean, it's gorgeous! The grounds are beautiful with big, old Oak Trees, the river is packed with families and INCREBLE CATFISH - shoutout to Eric :) We enjoyed our time here so much; that we are truly sad to leave in the morning! Thank you Jackie & Danny!”

“It's all in the details. My stay at Camp Rockaway Fort Tilden was such a relaxing and refreshing experience. The tents were comfortable. The shower stalls were clean. Staff consistently tended to the bathroom facilities. Oh, and the staff (every single one) was helpful at every moment they needed to be. The camp manager was accommodating as can be. When she left a watering can on the porch of the tent so we could rinse the sand off our feet, I realized the love is in the details of the camp. I highly recommend a stay with these folks.”

Camp fires were allowed while we were there but was told they do ban them based on conditions. Many of the sites toward the back of the campground had steep slopes so be aware. “An experience like none other! We just came back today after spending six nights in our yurt at Andelyn Farm. First, Lyn and Andy were very warm and welcoming when we arrived - it was obvious the amount of hard work, love, and dedication they put into their home and land every day. This serene property is over 100 acres and encompasses beautiful trails and rolling hills with spectacular views. The yurt was gorgeous and very neat and clean with its own basic amenities like a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, grill, etc. It was the perfect size for us with our kids and dog. The country charm was inherently beautiful, and perfectly complimented the relaxing atmosphere. I can't say enough about how clean the bathrooms and showers were. I was so impressed with how spotless they were maintained. I usually wake up quite a bit at night when I am home, but the very first night we stayed there I slept the entire night and woke up feeling great and well rested! Staying at Andelyn Farm was truly cathartic for all of us. Lyn and Andy are very genuine and kind, which made it so comfortable to talk to them. We felt as if we were part of their family. Thank you so much for everything and we will definitely be back next year!”
