“I am a firm believer that it's not the hospital but the staff that makes a patient's experience memorable one way or the other. The doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department who took care of me when I broke my ankle a few days ago were truly incredible. Two particular nurses made my experience sooo much easier. Brent and Tori are both nurses in the ED and they both went out of their way to keep me calm and relaxed. Brent spent a couple hours talking with me about his nursing school days (as I had just applied to nursing programs), and all about his family. He didn't even flinch when I grabbed his hand once the Dr started reducing my breaks. He stood there with me and told me stories to keep my mind off of the pain. I can honestly say that I hope I am able to help people the way he helped me through that miserably painful experience. Providence is lucky to have both of these wonderful nurses on their staff!”

“I was in kidspeace when I was 15. I will be 26 in a few months and i still find myself thinking back to this place and the absolutely amazing people i met there, both staff and other patients. I was in 2 other places prior to this for severe depression and I had felt both times like I was some kind of animal in a cage. At Kidspeace I felt like I was at a summer camp and I quickly formed a bond with the staff and made so many friends. I felt like they were my best friends and we always had fun. All the nurses and staff were mostly young and they understood what it was like being a teenager, they were very laid back. I dont know if Justin, Sam and Ryan are still working there or not but I owe them a great deal as they constantly pushed me to do better and I cant say it enough how relaxed I felt there... I wish I could go back just to thank them for all they did and just enjoy the nostalgia for awhile. I really miss that place at times. I highly recommend this place, it's a gorgeous facility and its kept very clean. The doctors were great and the treatment involved 1 on 1 talks with both the counselors and the staff. It really made a difference because I felt like even the staff CARED so much about each of us. They understand.”
