“Pros: 30 minutes from town so super convenient. They have actual flushing toilets and sinks up the road which I highly recommend. There's an ampitheatre for group activities. Can hike and fish with any age. Lots of parking! Trailer accessible. Free dump site for your trailer. Cons: each campsite doesn't have a fire pit. Actual dirt area in campsite is very small. No soap in the bathrooms, and the porta potty in the actual campsite smells horrible. Saw multiple HUGE turantula spiders and had coyotes in our campsite. Overall was okay for a quick getaway though.”

“We had the most wonderful stay!! The hospitality was truly amazing and the property is gorgeous. It truly felt like we were right at home. Favorites included the beautiful deck (great for stargazing!), the dogs, and the breakfast. COME HUNGRY -- Jim cooks an amazing breakfast and you can expect a few surprise sweet treats to make appearances during your stay. Conveniently located just a few steps off the main drag, it was the perfect home base for the weekend.”

“Me and my friend have been here for 5 months now. The owners and the office people have been nothing but nice and kind. I love how they have cleaned up the place. The remodeling is beautiful. It will be even nicer and more safe when they are done. Getting rid of the trouble makers and the unsavory people has made it more peaceful. It's like home away from home.”

“Always stay here because of there pet friendly rooms. It’s always difficult to book space at the vet for boarding services. Now, my dogs can sleep with me. Air conditioning can be set to 60 degrees if you are able to bear it. Breakfast is a buffet style.”

“It's private. It used to be mob owned, then owned by a church group, now, well, rich Russians? Not sure. Have only been there when the Italians owned it. Golf course, restaurant, landing strip, marina. Frank Sinatra used to have a house on the island back in the day. If you have a chance to go to Rattlesnake or Hen Island, don't pass them up.”

“Stayed here in September and rented a cabin for two nights. Loved the space and the cleanliness! My favorite part was walking the trails on the grounds and enjoying the outdoor space with the deck and the hammocks. Staff are really nice and helpful and great location within Canyon Lake! Can’t wait to book trip soon.”

“I stayed at Hometowne Lodge for just over 10 weeks. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff treats everyone with respect and they do a great job of taking care of the building and the property. I would definitely stay here again. And Robin deserves a pay raise.”

“I recently purchased a membership with Arcadia Resorts and have already met some incredible people. Christine's passion for helping people travel in ways they had only dreamed of, Mark from member services explaining all of the benefits in detail and making sure you get the most out of your membership, Tina at the concierge desk saving me time and money on a trip to see my dad, not even using an Arcadia property. This membership is quickly becoming one of the best investments I've made so far. I am planning more trips in higher quality resorts and getting the best deals available, thanks to all of my new friends at Arcadia resorts. See you on the lazy river!”

“So much space to make it exactly what you want! I had my wedding in October, and it was the perfect time of year to have the best day of my life! I couldn't have been more happy with the way it all turned out. The owner is so easy going, and I could tell he wanted the experience to be perfection.”

“Look theres no other hotel close to rate. Yea theres alot of work this place needs but if your trying to get ahead in life this place is perfect. You could save up while staying here then you could move where you want. I'm very grateful for this place if not I would be paying 70 % of my check every week anywhere else. Tell me how would you be able to live like that. So to all the people bashing this place just try and look at it from a way of building your life from scratch. I've bin here a few weeks an almost have money saved up for my new place. So keep pushing and God will open doors to new opportunities.”

“I just want to give great kudos to Barb and her awesome motel at Anderson's Riviera Inn This place sits right on the Ohio river. Very clean, amazing owner, jacuzzi tub, amazing view and cheaper then any city hotel (with a view of an interstate) you could get. Bonus, 3 minutes from the casino.”

“We stayed here on Thanksgiving night 2022. The hotel is beautiful, with well appointed accommodations. There is a continental breakfast available with healthful selections. The manager/staff are available by text or phone call. The door locks use a keypad code system for entry. My only suggestion would be for the management to alert customers in advance that the individual room doors don't lock automatically when they close behind you when you leave. You need to lock them with the key given. The doors to the outside do lock automatically behind you when you leave. This could be printed on the information card that is in the rooms. All in all, it is a beautiful boutique hotel!”

“If you are looking for a family friendly campground, I highly recommend Skonewood. I like it that the playground with wide open grass area for sports are available right on sight so it's easy to keep your eyes on the kids. Each stall came with running water and electricity which is a HUGE plus!! The swimming area was great for kids. The float mat was their favorite!! Lots of sunnies if you're looking to fish but not much more than a bunch of sunnies. Once in a while you'll see a few bass come by but that's about it. This was our second time here and would definitely come back again in the future.”
