“We stayed here when I was in town to visit my friend. Their handicapped accessible room was much better than most. They had 2 beds available. That is very helpful as I was traveling with my son. A lot of hotels only offer a king room and almost no one has roll away beds anymore, so that makes trips very difficult. The beds were a little high, but there was clearance underneath, so I could be put in bed with the lift. I was very impressed with their shower situation. It was a big shower, with a solid shower chair in it. I have been sent to "handicapped accessible" rooms with a piece of plastic over a tub as your "bench". In my opinion tubs all together should be dropped as a handicapped accessible alternative. It is helpful for wheelchair bound individuals. A lot of people that are not wheelchair bound have very limited mobility. Why make it harder. We have enough to deal with. We got here later than I would have liked, so we didn't get to do the pool, but they did have a pool lift. Anything that makes handicapped people feel comfortable is a helpful plus. Life is hard enough.”

“The Campgrounds are awesome! Not a lot sites for big RVs but there are some so plan ahead. Staff is great and now that the log cabins are gone I wonder if they are planning more RV sites? Fort Story is great, the beach is a short walk away, private, quiet and simply relaxing. This is our go to place in the VB area!”

Compassionate of the predicament, flexible in working with us considering the circumstances, and continuously professional concerned exhibited that any happenstance be addressed efficiently. All public places of business have a responsibility to accommodate service animals. However in truth, few do. This establishment not only graciously accepted the addition of my truly needed and beloved assistant, but her presence was desired not merely tolerated under threat of compliance. An exceptional focus on the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility relieved my concern of such public accomodations amidst the virus concerns. Thanks to the staff.”

“Great little spot on the bay that also offers beach access on the gulf side. Tom is a great host who has thought of everything. Rooms have multiple charging stations where you need them. Comfortable beds and sofas, and big screen TVs. Full Kitchens are stocked with all the utensils and serving ware you need. Also a great outdoor kitchen. You have to try the outdoor shower! Home away from home in a beautiful setting. It appears the same people come back year after year, and everyone is friendly! I’ll be back!”
