“This museum is unlike others. In stead of solely walking and appreciating masterpieces, the activities inside are arranged in a way of workshop. Of course, they require your participation and you eventually get fun. They are focused on sciences and let you have an experiment or play a game. Some natural facts which you may never know them will intrigue you. One more suggestion for people who have kids, if you want them to love sciences, bring them here. Many workshops will build your kids’ curiosity which is a key of success in the future.”

Keep walking to the waterfront and the entrance will be on your right side, with signs posted. Enter the building and go up the the second floor for many exhibits about geology, tides, Bay Area demographics, seismology, a radar of all current boat traffic in the bay, etc etc. Lots to explore!”

“Attended their annual Oyster Festival in support of the working waterman of Maryland. This is a fantastic event and one that I hit every year. The oysters are superb and right out of the bay. There's fantastic bloody mary's provided by George's mix and of course, beer and wine. With live music from two different bands, this is just an all around wonderful event.”

“The farm at Hampton National Historic Site provides a different perspective on life at the Hampton plantation and shouldn’t be missed. There are ten historic buildings and lots of information about the lives of servants and enslaved people. Many of the buildings are open to the public, but they close a bit earlier than the mansion so don’t save them for last. The guided tours and special programs are really interesting. Check at the visitor for times and info.”

“I was heading to Richmond and stopped in for a break. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised that this is a fantastic museum with a wonderful staff and a multiple of neat exhibits. The staff member walked me through all of the exhibits and explain the significance of each one. If I had more time I could have spend at least another two hours. I highly recommend anyone driving through this area to stop and check it out.”

“Harold Lee Adkins was my grandfather. Yesterday marks 18 years he has passed. His daughter Vickie is my mom. I stood in front of the agriculture hall of fame with my grandad when i was around 6 years old. He has poured his heart into this place and i know he is watching over it. We don’t get to visit much as we are now few hours away but when we do come to the Kansas City area..we always make sure to make a visit here.”
