“LaTerra is a great community but it is adult-focused and strongly enforced quiet hours. Do NOT recommend for families. The downtown area is 1/2 hour and if you have a family esp with smaller children you are better off staying closer to the downtown area where there is much to do. Been living here for a year and have seen too many smaller children restless. This is a quiet complex best suited for couples or adults. There is no pool toys or ball throwing allowed in the pool. Any parties are quickly squelched with a call to the police and owners are fined. That being said, it’s a great getaway with the spa that has recently come under new ownership and a large renovation, it’s beautiful and also a med spa starting 1/1/22”

“The place was lovely. We had the rear space. Pros: The staff we met when we got the key were very nice. 5 minute walk to the beach, if you take your time! Lighting and general decor is beautiful. The inside was very cleanh and has good quality toiletries provided. The kitchen has very nice, new appliances, and has lovely kitchenware. The washer and dryer were very old, but quality and clearly a reliable set from before the "replace it" generation. The parking was big and plentiful. You could fit about 6-10 vehicles in a pinch, bearing in mind it is shared with the other unit. WiFi from Comcast, got about 115d/12u mbps during our stay. Cons: Outdoor lighting for the rear was non existent. Front has nice lighting on their deck and it would have been nice to use the deck at night. The outside and maintenence area could be cleaned up a bit, you expect sand and dirt at a beach house but it could do without the few rusty metal parts on the ground on the sidewalk. Some of the art doesn't seem to fit the decor, and there were some odd choices for a few fixtures, such as the master shower having a great shower head, but the shower was too small to really use it. The fridge, while nice, is side by side, so you may want to keep a cooler for your drinks to save fridge space.”

“This is our new favorite place! We had to come back to back from Father's Day to a following Birthday, as there was no comparison! Their steaks are absolutely cooked to perfection. Everything is fresh and so good! Their Mud Pie is out of this world! They have a good cocktail menu. The tables on the patio are right above the water with cute string lights. Stay after and explore the river, bridge and trails! The service and family friendliness is superb! Everyone works together to make sure you're having the best service. It's also dog friendly on the patio. We have yet to stay in the lodge, but hopefully soon!”

“We actually stumbled across this gem when it popped up in my “resorts with lazy river” search results (because it’s about 200 yards from the Brazos River)! When I saw the pictures I fell in love so we booked it even though it wasn’t what we were initially looking for. I feel like we lucked out since they just opened and aren’t well known yet because I can’t imagine there will be many more weekends when there aren’t weddings booked because is the PERFECT wedding venue!! Our navigation did send us to the wrong place right down the road for some reason, but google maps on my phone directed us to the right place. The secluded area is a bonus in my opinion! Check in was easy as it is done virtually and you’re given a key code for your villa. The property is quiet, peaceful and pristine. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We walked the short walk to the river with our 2 boys and they played there for a while while I collected a few rocks. We cooled off in their magnificent pool. The villas are so charming. And the beds were so comfortable that my husband 100% unzipped the mattress pad this morning to see what brand they were! It was definitely the relaxation and recharge we all needed at the end of a 2 week road trip. I absolutely would recommend staying here.”

“Honestly for the price of about $100 a night it comes with a pretty decent TV two very nice beds which were clean and comfortable. The front desk person was very kind and was helpful. Bathroom was pretty small and there wasn't much hot water but besides that there were amenities and plenty of towels.”

“My husband and I wanted a weekend to unplug and this was the perfect place to do that. The gentle sound of the river lulled us to sleep in the comfortable king bed of the river view suite. The delicious breakfast filled our bellies and our souls. I was able to achieve near comatose levels of relaxation. The hosts are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Thanks for the great stay!”

“We were comfortable. Check in was seamless. Our room was clean, mattress was just right. Bedding was nice. Fridge, microwave and coffee pot were nice conveniences. The breakfast attendant seemed like she really enjoyed her job. She added a lot of positive energy to the experience. We liked it so much we chose Comfort Suites for our last stop on our way home.”

“Me and tie wife got away for one night. The house is rich in history and the town is amazing ! The house is going through som renovations and that is a good thing. The service was awesome, we bought a bottle of wine and put it in the fridge to chill. When we got back we had a note that they had put glasses in the fridge for us to chill. Great touch ! We will be back !”

“Great location, especially if you're interested in the flea market and antique auction; you can walk there quite easily. Wonderful breakfast, hospitable hosts, and lovely cleaning lady (Miriam). The main house is nicely finished and modern, with all the amenities you could want. My room in the barn was chilly and dated, but served its purpose and was insulated from a lot of noise (fireworks, barking dogs). In all fairness, the hosts just took over and mentioned there were things that needed fixing/updating. I would stay here again.”

“I work for a design firm for hotels, and have seen quite a few upscale and not so upscale. This hotel is actually good for a budget hotel. Usually budget hotels are "a bed to sleep in" and that's the only quality they have, because they're a budget hotel. This one keeps up its appearances and maintenance better, putting it in what I would call upper budget quality. Externally, the place has rough edges. Internally though, it's a completely different story. Not a single speck of mold or mildew in my room that I could find. I couldn't find any signs of bedbugs either. Things were overall quite clean. It's still a budget hotel. Still a place to sleep. But at least it gets the job done comfortably.”

“It's one thing to tour, which if you're a FLW fan you'll enjoy walking thru each home. But to rent the place, sleep in the bed, wake up in , imagine what it would have been like to live in the home daily, was so enjoyable. My suggestion is if it is a stretch financially to stay the night but you do it anyways, bring your own food before you arrive for the night, it gives you so much more time to experience the house. It's a simple home. Larger inside than it appears, take a walk around the house. The owners did a great job placing the home. FLW would have approved!”

“Finca Felix is an incredible place to vacation, relax, enjoy with family or friends depending on the season. The attention to detail is really good, the rooms and the service are excellent. The people in charge of the place make the stay a very good experience, easy to schedule until departure. In the different hosted it has been impressive to see the process of growth and transformation of the place and its surroundings.
