“Covered with snow, great play place. Not supposed to park on the street, but many people did. Too much trash left behind by thoughtless people. Packed out a grocery bag of other peoples' trash and debris. But our kids loved it.”

Marshall Canyon Trail

“We actually didn’t plan to hike this trail but glad we did. Lively wildlife with lots of birds, frogs, rabbits. Creek water crossings (be careful when it rains, you can tell it can get flooded easily). For those that are rock hounds and enjoy geology, I recommend waking right along the creek (trail is right next to it). Also, easily accessible for photographers that want to shoot portraits. I was also surprised by the variety of plant life. Oaks and eucalyptus trees within a few hundred feet of each other. There’s a swing, currently along the trail (Dec 2018). Saw horse poop so maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see someone ride through. Terrains is pretty flat in the beginning. LOTS of bikes, as everyone has said.”

Phillips Ranch Park

“The paw park is absolutely stunning and we'll maintained. The agility obstacles to the given dog utilities is a straight plus one for me. The picnic area is fairly small so it probably won't be good to have big parties here. The public bathrooms are fairly taken care of and there's hardly any trash in the park which says something. The parks located in a quiet neighborhood so if your looking for a quiet space then this park is for you.”

“I love that there's so much to do for free in the Los Angeles area that you would never dream is actually here. My companion has been hiking in this area many many times and felt that I would be able to do this hike even just recovering from knee surgery. He was right. We walked up to the ruins of a house that had been built higher up on the hills and we spend a lot of time poking around and imagining what that house would have looked like in its Glory Days the walk is easy, much of it is still asphalt although it's been damaged in many places and is not strictly flat. There were some areas that he knew were very Steep and probably wouldn't have been good for my knee and we took alternate routes because many were available. We cross some very shallow creeks with dry rocks in them that we could easily navigate without slipping into the water. This was a very clean hiking area. I saw absolutely no trash lying around to make the scenery any less beautiful. I'm sure there's a lot of fauna in the area but we didn't see any ourselves on this trip. I can say for sure this is an area I will go back to once my knees are better and I would look forward to doing some more exploration and seeing what else is available there. There are restrooms at the start of the trail. They look like they would be regular bathrooms but they are kind of like glorified out houses in effect. But it's the kind of thing to be grateful for that there is a restroom at all LOL. By the way there's a really cool modern glass House that you can see from the parking lot. I'm not sure how to get there or whether it's actually inhabited or not but it's really cool to look at.”
