“Awesome spot for a play date/time with your kids. We've only been once, but it seems pretty safe. Decent looking neighborhoods, right next to an elementary school.”

“Shepherd Canyon is in Tierrasanta of San Diego. When youre near the hiking trail, you can park on the sidewalk or inside the parking lot of a church, whichever waypoint you're at of the hiking trail. The scenery is beautiful. It has lots of plants, rabbits, frogs are croaking, and the trail is soft and smooth on your feet. The trail is really short so, it's easy for beginners. There is no restroom unless, the church that I mentioned earlier might have a restroom. Unfortunately, there are no post signs of where or how far you've gone on your hike like you've reached 1 mile. This was my first time, but I don't believe there are many people who walk this trail.”

“Another beautiful part of Shepherd Canyon. Connects to the other parts of Shepherd Canyon at Antigua and Santo. Pretty in the evening around sunset.”

“Specially love this park during spring season with these jacaranda trees in bloom. Went here last week for a walk to make the time worth after a 30 minutes drive planning to attend the Ascension Sunday mass, and it's always nice to come back and take a walk here. It was just few minutes away where we used to live years ago. People here are friendly too. There are benches and play area for kids with a swing but wish there is also a restroom here.”

“This is a lovely park with great hiking. It gets too hot in the summertime but they have a free museum full of fun facts and activities and Air-conditioning!”

“Not a bad way to access the park. You can follow the signs around to Shepherd's Pond and from there get to the summit of north Fortuna Mt. Also many other trails branch off. Lots of flowers right now. It's a bit of a climb to the summit though.”

“Such a little gem in Tierrasanta! We've only been a few times, but it's hours of fun. There's not much shade and it fills up fast since there is a low capacity number. It's $3 per person I believe. Anyone under 4 has to wear a swim diaper. The water is no deeper than two feet and it's at a perfect angle for babies to splash in too. Can't recommend this place enough. There's plenty of parking that's shaded. There's a cute little park. So plenty to explore on a summer's day.”

“This is part of our daily dog walk. It's a great place to get your nature fix The volunteers keep the foliage under control and work hard to keep the native plants thriving.”

“This is a fun trail that will go as far as you are willing to go. Nesled in the foothills of the mission trails state park, you can just keep going. As far as you feel like.”

“I love hiking Mission Trails! This trailhead has less cars which is a plus! I did notice that the area was more populated with flies/bees, but nothing crazy to make you want to leave. Just keep hiking and enjoy the sun!”
