“Dirt road rough. But beautiful place. Lots of spots. When you pick a spot I recommend sitting for a minute cause lots of bees in same spots.”

Lake Forest Campground

Address: 2504-2540 Lake Forest Rd, Tahoe City, CA 96145, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“What a pretty little Campground nestled in between all kinds of activities including a baseball diamond and a boat launch. The campground itself is kind of quaint and there is a trailer there that looks like it's been there for a while! A nice little change from what you normally see on North Shore.”

Cherry Valley Lakes RV Resort

Address: 36805 Brookside Ave, Beaumont, CA 92223, USA

Rv park Campground Park Storage Lodging

“Decent rv park. Doesn’t look like luxury but they have nice amenities. Stayed for 7 days. Staff was very nice. We had no issues besides water being cut off a couple of times but for no more then an hour. Definitely will be back! They also have a SUPER nice youth center for the kiddos.”

Quail Campground

Address: Quail, Moreno Valley, CA 92555, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Pic is from the beach at parking lot 9. On the reservation map, Quail looked like the tent locations were more spaced out. Couldn't tell if anything was going on at either amphitheater, but the museum is only open Friday? Bring your own beach chair and shade in case you don't get a picnic table at the beach. The camp has flush toilets, a shower, a dumpster nearby (don't leave food or trash out at night), running water nearby, a drinking fountain at the bathroom, and friendly employees. Google Maps says this is in Moreno Valley which is technically true, but it's actually in Lake Perris SRA. LoL, someone said that the firewood was cheaper at the Stater Brothers but unless you're already going there it's a 20 minute drive so if you're only getting one or 2 bundles, it's worth getting it at the campground gate (time and gas) but if you need other supplies, the shopping area around the Stater Bros is huge, including a Walmart Supercenter and most fastfood restaurants.”

Island Park Campground

Address: 32303 E Trimmer Springs Rd, Sanger, CA 93657, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Great park. Gorgeous view from our site. There are off road trails and a pretty beach just down the hill, and the bathroom facilities are simple but clean (they had one shower in the one i went into). We went in December and the park was nearly empty. There are fire rings as well, and the site we were in was huge! Some of the sites are pretty unlevel, but ours was fine. The campground is also dog friendly as long as they are leashed. Just a note, There are some sharp turns to get to the park that might be difficult to navigate if you have a bigger rig/rv, but we made it fine with our 35ft camper. Well definitely be going back.”

Hensley Lake Recreation Area

Address: 25207 Rd 407, Raymond, CA 93653, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Beautiful park with lovely views. Clean bathrooms, large sites with room for big rigs or tents. Hot showers and clean bathrooms. Saw a Bald Eagle 2 days ago and no camera with me. Hawk’s everywhere, coyotes at night and tons of squirrels. Great place to be!”

Campground | New Brighton State Beach

Address: New Brighton State Beach, 1500 Park Ave, Capitola, CA 95010, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“New Brighton Beach is a state park with campsite that range from basic to full hook ups. We had full hook ups with a very level spot. Access to the beach is available via trail or a short drive to the lower parking lot. The beach wasn't that great as it was packed and the water is not the cleanest on the west coast. But you are super close to Capitola or Santa Cruz so your options are vast. And obviously trails for various activities are abundant in the area. But we made the best of and had fun. Kids rode bikes around with no problems and plenty of other kids. Showers were clean and just like any other place needs quarters. Overall we will probably head back one day.”

Lighthouse Resort

Address: 151 Brannan Island Rd, Isleton, CA 95641, USA

Campground Park Restaurant Lodging

“Great location. Friendly staff. Large campsites. Activities for the family. Prices went through the roof.”

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Tower Park Resort in Lodi, CA

Address: 14900 CA-12, Lodi, CA 95242, USA

Campground Rv park Park Lodging

“From the moment of check in I had such an efficient and smooth process. I was guided to my site and assisted with parking as I was by myself with the kids this trip ( husband was working) and the facilities and grounds were clean and all staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed gold mining, tie dye and laser tag and of course the water park/pool and playgrounds. The new general store is awesome with tons of additional amenities. The price seems a bit steep compared to other resorts but the care of the grounds, amenities, activities and friendly staff make it worth it!”

Old Isabella Road Recreation Site

“Delicious sandwiches and tacos at Reds Marina. Excellent service with beautiful views. Limited menu, but food is great!”

Ramona Oaks RV Park

Address: 24340 CA-78, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

“We stayed for 3 nights in August what a great place, friendly staff everything was clean and worked perfect. They have a little issue with the water but will work it out soon don't let it stop you from visiting we had no trouble with it (I an a water production supervisor). We had the best spot in the park and it was cool and quiet can't wait to come back and stay longer.”

Kern River's Edge Campground Retreat

Address: 15775 Sierra Way, Kernville, CA 93238, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“I grew up here and never knew about this FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED MUST SEE hidden gem till I moved home this summer. Horseshoes, frisbee golf, hot showers! Yes, please. Pleasantly surprised to know I now have a place to recommend my "newer to camping folks" , the borderline "glampers" (firewood, ice, beer delivered to site) or long time campers looking for a new experience where everyone can trust that even if they are inexperienced, either the owners or the on site Camp Host, Curtis, will gladly be your CAMP CONCIERGE and guide you through anything that comes up when needed. At Kern River's Edge you can trust you'll have a clean site, clean river front access, and peace when around the campfire at night for optimal storytelling and stargazing. While on the hunt for a summer gig that put me next to a campfire as much as possible, this camp became the winner. So yes, I work here, but the owners, Rhonda & John (Johndra as nobody calls them) are unaware of me writing this. (And that we call them Johndra). Because of a company name change they are rebuilding their campground brand from the ground up and thus rebuilding 34 years of ratings and reviews so I figured I'd get the ball rolling as this feedback is authentic and I'm only a part time weekend minimum wage employee who is really just doing it cause it's fun. They have placed many boundaries on their camp, including quiet hours, education on "leave no trace", and are glass free, (aka you and your kids can walk around barefoot). At first these seemed too much these rules, what am I at camp?! Yes, turns out. Now that I've seen it for a few months I get that this is what people come for, a place where your entire experience has been thought out from the time you land till the time you leave with the goal of helping people connect with nature and each other, this is a camp ripe for the making of Family Memories that you want to pass on from generation to generation. With only 6 employees and 3 of them being in the same family, if you are looking for a more personalized camping experience that's focused on connecting with nature first, this is your new go to spot. Get it before it blows up. While nearby camps have over 400 sites, Kern River's Edge floats happy with 40. See you here. -Andie, Camp Concierge P.S. they have an incredible outdoor venue that I'd love to see used more. Moving forward they are open to a lot more things, contact KRE with all your outdoor connection needs/desires now!”

Coon Creek Cabin Group Campground

Address: 44611 CA-38, Angelus Oaks, CA 92305, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“This spot a few miles up the dirt road from Heart Bar is a beautiful place to spend the weekend. It's not the cheapest campground (especially with so many free Yellow Post sites on the way there), but it is the best spot for a breathtaking view, a lot of space, and a toilet (although with the number of flies in the outhouse I would almost prefer squatting in nature). It's situated atop the Coon Creek Jumpoff with a spectacular view of the Coachella Valley, and the Pacific Crest Trail passes right by -- these are good things, but they do make for quite a few strangers passing through or parking at camp each day, which is a minor annoyance. Overall, it's an excellent choice for camping with a group out in the SB National Forest.”

Miners Camps RV Park

Address: 11700 Wade Ln, Wallace, CA 95254, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Really great place to trailer/motorhome camp all site are an easy walk to either the main lake or the pond. There is no swimming in the pond but there is in the main lake plus it is in the no wake zone so all boats are taking it easy here. Good fishing in both pond and lake locations very family easy. Quite time are in forced by the roving rangers to help keep it enjoyable for everyone. And the sunset are amazing”

San Gorgonio Family Campground

Address: 43064 CA-38, Angelus Oaks, CA 92305, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Love San Gorgonio! Best campground. We've been going there for about 30 years. Eric the host is awesome! It's a good family campground.”

Breckenridge Campground

Address: Forest Rte 28S06, Bakersfield, CA 93301, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We don't generally stay in the campgrounds themselves, but up the road just a bit. The campgrounds are nice, they each have their own firepits, conditions permitting, and there is a toilet, not a bathroom but a toilet...imagine an outhouse but with a larger space, wooden walls and concrete floor. It's a dry camp, which means no water. I do believe there is a water spigot of non potable water if I remember correctly, so bring your own water! It's very pretty, lots of trees, a pretty little meadow and creek that runs through it (water is only in it after the snow melts until mid to late August) but the wildlife drinks from it and you can watch them if you stay quiet 🤫 Plenty of trails to hike and exploring to be done! My favorite place to be! This is not a resort! You want to camp, it's your spot! There are spots large enough for a camp trailer if that's how you wanna stay. They are kept clean, but if you stay....you pack it in you pack it out!!! Keep it clean for others to enjoy!! That and you might wake up to critters in your camp!!🦝🐀🐿🐻 From mid August to late October is Deer/Squirrel/Bear season and you will be sharing the mountain with a bunch of hunters...that's where my family and I come in 😉 I just love the clean air, the smell of the trees, the beautiful views and listening to nature!!”

Doble PCT Trail Camp

Address: 38698 Holcomb Valley Rd, Big Bear, CA 92314, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“AWESOME place to hike!!! Absolutely beautiful with stunning views, I highly recommend a hike here.”

Upper Little Truckee Campground

Address: CA-89, Sierraville, CA 96126, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“I came in midweek and stayed as a walk-in reservation. The camp host was by far the best camp host I ever experienced. Vernon was super helpful and attentive. He shared lots of interesting stories and told me the best fishing holes. Bathroom was so clean for vault toilets in a campground. The sites are spacious and clean. There’s some road noise but it doesn’t bother me at all, and it’s quiet at night. Easy access for fishing too! As a woman camping alone in an area with no cell service I was slightly nervous. Vernon made me feel safe and secure. He told me he’d keep an eye out. He drove by a couple times just to check on me. He suggested I keep my car keys close, if I had any issue or heard anything to set off my panic alarm and he’d be there in a minute. Made me feel at ease, Vernon was very grandfatherly and genuinely cares for the campground, campers and wildlife. I will definitely be going back!”

Mile High Pines Camp

Address: 42739 CA-38, Angelus Oaks, CA 92305, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Mile High Pines was so great! The campground was beautiful. They had multiple activities such as rock climbing, zip lining, a pool to swim in, a set up to play 9 square (which is so fun btw). Meals served were delicious, especially for going to camp. Lunch and dinner were my favorites. I will say, take cushioned blankets or a nice thick sleeping bag because the bunk cots are really thin mattresses. That would be my only suggestion if you are concerned about comfort. For kids and younger adults they probably won't be an issue, but I'm a mom, and 29 years old. Even though that's not old, my back was still really hurting in that bunk lol I had a great time though. It's perfect for being in nature, while still having comforts of home. Would definitely recommend 👌”

Suncrest Village RV Park

Address: 2555 Jewetta Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93312, USA

Rv park Campground Park Lodging

“Home away from home great people. The cleanest bathrooms. If I ever have to stay in Bakersfield it will be here. 5 stars!!!!!”

Camp Tanda

Address: 40005 Lakeview Dr, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315, USA

Campground Park Lodging Church

“So this is our 3rd time attending Camp Tanda and it’s been easy, affordable and fun for our teens. The facilities are spacious, warm (in the fall and winter) and it’s enclosed so the youth can roam around freely. The staff is amazing, anything we need they accommodate. Milene is amazing and always helpful with accommodations. We’ve been able to save so much money by bringing our own cooks and using the camps industrial kitchen. I definitely recommend Camp Tanda to anyone who’s interested in a weekend or week long retreat!”

Little Bear Spring Trail Camp

Address: Coxey Rd, Fawnskin, CA 92333, USA

Campground Park Lodging

SoCal Camping

Address: Mountain Hwy 99 box 90, Kernville, CA 93238, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Let me tell you this is a really quaint spot....if you want the real camping experience but with a pillow top mattress and just pleasant comfortable surroundings this is the place to be... They have taken all the amenities of camping and made the not so pleasant parts a pleasure.... it has everything at your disposal from rafts to bikes to swim shoes just a nice experience all around. The camp host was a pleasure aswell.... She was attentive and friendly and I highly recommend this place .”

Hot Springs Parking & Trailhead Entrance

Address: 5910 Hot Springs Trl, Apple Valley, CA 92308, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Same Bowen Ranch camp area & trailhead, different entrance and people running it. Been going here 20 years & it’s a vast improvement. The roads are graded smooth and having actual facilities like bathrooms & showers available is amazing. The grumpy gun toting guy is still in the shack at the old original entrance to the Bowen Ranch, but beware that it NO LONGER leads to the actual Bowen Ranch camp area and hot springs trail because there is a new fence at the property line blocking the road forcing you to hike way around and use a new trail.”

Campers at vail lake

Address: Anja Ave, Temecula, CA 92592, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We had an amazing time at the campground. The camper arrived before we did and it was all set up for us. It was a real cool bunk camper and our kids had a great time in it. I highly recommend this camper. Thanks”

Campground Park Lodging

Camp Chawanakee

Address: 43485 Dinkey Creek Rd, Shaver Lake, CA 93664, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Nice Boy Scouts camping place. With many Merit Badges to work in. Some examples are shotgun shooting, climbing, archery, and life saving. Though there are many more. It may seem like a dream but it isn’t because of these following reasons. The tents cabins are a little dirty and small and have bugs. The showers have dead cockroaches but that’s not that bad. Wear shoes in the showers. The food is ok. But it’s actually pretty fun and it’s cool. The staff are all very nice and the campsites are beautiful.”

Lake Cuyamaca Recreation & Park

Address: 15027 CA-79, Julian, CA 92036, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“My family and I visited for a few hours. The weather was perfect and the views are beautiful. We came on thursday around 1 pm and there were only a few people in sight which I admit, it was very nice haha. I only gave 4 stars because the bathrooms were closed. Only the portapotties were open. Overall it was a great day.”
