“It's small but cute! There's lots of photo ops. Great selection of pumpkins. They have a small petting zoo.”

“Really beautiful preserve. Parking situation is very easy; park, pay, sign in and you're good to go. The trail is very well taken care of and even 1/8 of a mile into it you feel like you're far away from where you really are. Gate closes around 5pm so make sure you plan accordingly but ti's a beautiful spot”

“Primitive campsites. Hike in is about 2.5 - 3 miles uphill. Might be a lot of people hiking and biking by, but there's some privacy from the trail. Pit bathroom close by. No water. No fire rings. Many sites have a table, some have a trash can. Some sites can only be accessed by walking through another site. Great views of the ocean and wilderness area. ”

“Maybe it was the perfect weather, but found this park so peaceful and lovely. My 5 year old boy and 8 year old girl absolutely loved it. It appeared not so exciting and too small when we pulled up, but they soon were playing and loving the excavators on the playground. The benches are in the shade, there's a large field next to the small playground, and it's in a nice quiet neighborhood. I laid out a blanket and read a book while my kids played. Know, though, that there is no dedicated parking lot. It is street parking but that was not a problem for us. Also, there are no restrooms. Playground equipment says it's best for 5 - 12 year olds. Update: if you have younger children it is definitely best to use this playground when teenagers are in school. We've had a couple bad experiences with them here.”

“So beautiful. Went here with my family to see the sunset. It was one of the best sunsets I've seen so far. The best part was it not being too crowded. For those who don't like bumping into people to get a good view, this is the place. We plan to go again some time soon!”

“Bathrooms are in the first building nearest the beach. Good bass fishing in the grass beds if you have a boat. Come early, parking gets taken fast.”

“It's a nice beach. Except for how steep the approach to the water is. That makes it hard to stroll along. The Junior Lifeguards were in action & that was VERY impressive to observe! The dedication & endurance those youngsters possess is beyond anything I have ever achieved. Of course, there's the fact that their parents are paying big bucks to have offspring in the program. But we'll be needing those lifeguards soon, all over the state. It was a shore-break kind of day, so there were no surfers present.”

“Wonderful area for strolling, fresh air, and watching sunsets. Clean and well maintained. Made a nice starting point for a stroll on the beach and to Balboa pier and back. Windy, so dress in layers if visiting in winter.”

“This is our neighborhood park. We always enjoy going for a walk or the playground with our 3-year old. For those that like sports, there is a running lane, baseball field, tennis and basketball courts.”

“Always on the look out for a good park for my toddlers. This one stood out to me because of the "musical area" within the park. I haven't seen this at any park before. Also the "boat" playground is super fun. It is a little far from parking, but worth the walk.”

“There's is a great ship-themed park here with a splash pad that is turned on during the summer months. There's also a pond with ducks, library, preschool, and a recurring event called Weeble Wobble Wednesdays, which is great for toddlers!”

“Cool trail. Although, really easy to get lost. Just make sure you have your map and plenty of charge of course :) if you looking to Branch out from the norm Peter's canyon trail then give this spot a try. There was plenty of parking probably be best to not stray to far or just know where you're going. There so many trails that run along Peter's canyon; never reliazed.”

“Great walking/jogging trail. Dress appropriately and bring water. Go EARLY in the morning to avoid extreme heat.”
