“A Florida classic. Large campground with nice sites. It’s a quick drive over to the spring. Glass bottom boats are a fun way to see the river. The five mile paddle to the end of the Silver River was an easy morning paddle.”

“Such an amazing place! This is a real sanctuary run by people who LOVE these animals! These animals have been truly rescued and now can live out their lives stress free in nurturing environments that they deserve. Without people like Lisa and Kurt these, and other animals, would be bred for fur, enjoyment, as personal pets and otherwise miserable lives. They are true to the animals and true to their hearts. These wild animals that had not been able to live their lives correctly, because of humans, now are in a true sanctuary living as happy as they could possibly be. Hearing where these animals were rescued from and then seeing how they are living and behaving now, stress free, brought tears of joy to my eyes and through my heart. Kurt and Lisa are inspiring on such a deep level. If only everyone had a fraction of their compassion, sanctuaries wouldn't even be needed. I am thankful for their compassion and love of animals and they truly make a difference in the world for animals that have had lives ruined by humans, until being rescued by the sanctuary.”

“This is a wide walking/biking trail that has a solid surface for the entire length. Part of it is asphalt and part is elevated walkways. It is smooth and does not have any trip hazards. I really like this trail and appreciate that it is there but there are 2 things I would like to see. One is for the bike riders to use bells or some other method to warn walkers that they are approaching from the rear. It would be very easy to get hit by a bike simply because you did not know it was approaching. The other thing is that I would like to see a parking area added at the trail entrance on the Pineda Causeway extension. Right now, people park along the roadway. Considering the amount of traffic in the area, that seems potentially very dangerous.”

“This fish camp is the place of so many childhood memories of camping/lodging/fishing and overall fun. My parents used to take me here each summer and my father and I would rent a boat and fish for bass, crappie, and pan fish we would always catch enough to do a fish fry the last day we were there. I now have kids of my own and look forward to continuing that tradition”

“Nice.. Very clean. Water dishes and a mini puppy pool provided. It is either $3 for one dog, $5 for two dogs or $25 a month for unlimited visits. Well worth it when you consider that you just mark where your puppy has pooped and they pick it up for you..”
