“9.9.18 was our first time out here for a hike. I love this area. Not a hard hike so I will say this is great for beginners. Lots of great views of the river falls. Get there early is say it takes about 5 to 6 hours of total hiking and stopping to see everything. Really if you just hike it you can do it app without stopping in about 2 to 3 hours. But it's worth stopping and taking in the view”

“Great trails to walk. Very relaxing place. A very clean park to come with family or a partner. The scenery is amazing all year round. You can enjoy a nice bike ride or a long walk. The new cottages that they are building are looking very nice. Great park for those with 4x4's when it rains to drive through the puddles.”

“Went here for a picnic. The picnic area's very nice. BBQ Pits are available and a short walk will take you right to the beach. The beach is VERY rocky! I suggest water shoes.”

“Grab a tube and ride the lazy river through the wetlands preserve to the east or pull up a chair and enjoy the harbor to the west. Visit during low tide to enjoy the expanse of sand bars. Great small North Shore beach.”

We care about our pollinators and have a bee and butterfly garden to keep our pollinators happy. There are work projects to keep the grounds looking lovely. You can apply for a membership at the town clerk's office.”

“Beautiful park, lots to do and you can walk out on the sand or walk in the little boardwalk. I came here with my nieces and my daughter and they had a ball. Ages ranging from 9 to 4 years of age. Wasn't that chilly but it wasn't the summer so I'm sure there must be vendors and lots more to do when its warm out.”

“Great trails to walk, nice playground for kids, and an excellent picnic/beach area. I plan to spend many beautiful afternoons and evenings here throughout spring, summer, and fall. As far as I can tell, it also doesn't get very busy here, which I prefer. Highly recommend to families and nature-loving individuals.”

“This is a sadly under-used dog park. It is difficult to find but you just have to turn into the property when you see the Masonic Lodge. And keep driving back and to the right. It's behind the abandoned hospital (?) That you can see from the road. It has lots of nice doggy agility apparatuses and trees and picking tables to sit at. It's on a hill which is fun for dogs to run up and down. My only criticism is it doesn't have doggie bags like many other dog parks do”

“An easy place from which to launch a kayak, canoe, or a catamaran. This being a reservoir, no power boats are permitted. That makes this a great place to enjoy a safe quiet afternoon of paddling. For a good workout, make your way down the reservoir to the Mongaup Falls. Almost hidden from view in the greenery, this is the perfect stopping place to enjoy the lunch which you will have remembered to pack, and maybe a beverage. It's a well-kept site, and the addition of a port-a-potty would up the comfort level a notch. Still, it's a great launching point for an afternoon of enjoyment.”

“Had a great time here. So many good things to say: - shuttle from the train station to the mountain was great. Very convenient to be picked up and have our packs taken to the campsite while we enjoyed a hike. - individual campsites were pretty private - the primitive campsite had everything we needed - a fire pit and grill for cooking, firewood, a picnic table, and a tarp to cover everything in the event of inclement weather - the bathhouse was clean and stocked with toilet paper. Showers were great as well. - some really good hikes in this area. The trails were pretty well marked. We were a bit out of shape and took it easy, but there were all kinds of challenging hikes with some great views. - The staff were great as well. Very helpful and personable. We had such a great time we decided to book again this season.”

“Excellent lake with public swimming, right off the main road. Very much a multiracial crowd, helpful teen lifeguards. Narrow beach makes it easy to wheelchair from the water back to our blanket. Nice, level path around the lake. Very good for wheelchair users. Also, this is the only public swimming facility in late August in the entire Orange county, it seems.”
