“This was an awesome park. We where here touring all of the Jehovah's Witness facilities. Close to many of them. The park has huge lots. We have a 40 foot with 4 pop outs and still plenty of room on the side. Their laundry room is immaculate and the staff are so welcoming. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Happy travels everyone!”

“Good hike ! You get sweeping views of the Hudson and bear mountain bridge at the top. There are some steep sections on the trail, and I'd consider it a moderate to strenuous hike, depending on fitness levels. I love that every so often on the trail, you are treated with awesome views of the open landscape and the bear mountain bridge, till you finally get to the top.”

“Plenty of options for young kids, safe area and there are bathrooms although there was no soap in them to wash your hands. All of the slides and jungle gym stuff was clean, the chains on the swings were pretty rusty though. Overall a nice place to bring your little ones.”

“It's ok my son likes it. They should put mulch down and fill in the holes caused by the children's feet. They also need to spray for the bees that have inhabited the bleachers as well as fix the walking path”

“Nordkop Mountain is located near Southwest end of Suffern - Bear Mountain trail (yellow markers). It offers excellent views of Suffern, nearby hills and highways. The trailhead is located on Orange Ave (Rt. 59) and can be reached by a car, Metro-North train (10 min walk from Suffern station) or Shortline Bus (5 min walk from a commuter lot parking). There is no trailhead parking, but plenty of commuter parking lots within a short walk. The climb is moderate-to-strenuous, less than a mile, with about 500 feet ascent, and can be completed in 1-2 hours. No special training or equipment is necessary. The top of the mountain is exposed rock, it’s not recommended to hike there during strong winds or thunderstorms. Also rain, snow or fallen leaves provide an added difficulty due to a slippery rocks. Suffern - Bear Mountain trail doesn’t meet another trail for more than 4 miles, meaning there is no option for a loop hike, only out and back. The entire SBM trail is about 25 miles and technically can be done in a long day, but it’ll be a strenuous hike. There are a few options for overnight hikes, with closest shelter (Stone Memorial) only 5 miles from the trailhead. Detailed and inexpensive trail maps can be obtained from New York New Jersey Trail Conference - local hiking organization. Do a search for “NYNJCT Harriman””
