“Nice and quite. Away from any main road. Grills and benches for a nice picnic. Shallow pool for the younger kids or just to dip your own feet. Swings. 4 playgrounds. 4 basketball hoops. Open grass area for kick ball or soccer, etc.. path for a short stroll. Nice quite stream next to it. Lastly, a few shady areas under some trees. We'll be back soon.”

“The opportunity to walk through one of the few salt marshes left on Long Island makes the Oceanside Marine Nature Study Area a must visit. The diversity of marine birds, including a pair of nesting ospreys is tremendous. I have seen dozens of different species, including an Osprey flying back to feed its fledglings with a whole flounder in its talons. The Study Area is particularly beautiful during the changing of the tides when the mud flats are exposed and bay is either filling or emptying its basin. The only downside is that the Study Area is not open Sundays and it's limited hours.”

“A small park but it offers a fantastic view of Haverstraw Bay, the widest point of the entire Hudson River. Just carefully walk your way down the rocks for some serenity by the river and enjoy the view. There is also a marsh here with some benches to sit and relax. Also a delight to hear the diesel trains running through Oscawana tunnel. Eagles are sometimes seen here during the winter.”

“No water refill at park, Doug area is a little hard to find the first time. Each time I've gone it was empty of other dogs. Nice that it is wood chips, dirt, grass and balls let behind for the next dog.”

“Took just a quick walk down to the lake as darkness fell, but this is a little gem. Way off the beaten track - not even doggers and joggers when I was there. Deeply forested with some lakes and wetlands. Well worth the mosey.”

“Entrance is via Black Rock Park. The Dog Park is on the right side. Parking is the same as for Black Rock parking. While your dog/dogs playing in a fancened area the is a picnic area with chairs and picnic table next to the water. The playing area for the dogs is very large with lots of space for your dog to run around. Area is shaded and near water of the Croton River which is very nice. Upstream and alongside the Croton River is Black Rock Park.”

“Great little hidden gem in Croton on Hudson, with swimming and a great place to just chill out. The swimming area has lifeguards but they do charge to get in even if a resident ????????. But if you go down the pathway and make a right away from the beach you'll see a fairly large gazebo. You can have lunch and walk down to the rocks and walk around or just enjoy mother nature's sounds. ”
