“We have our machine pitch baseball games here. The parking can be a little tricky, but it's not impossible. The third base dugout is a little snug with the placement of the pole. However, the location of the park is great. The bathrooms are well-maintained. The field itself is always in fine shape. We thoroughly enjoyed our baseball practices and games here. And on gamedays the Lions Club runs a concession stand.”

“For hike-in group camping, these sites are wonderful. Large spaces under a canopy of very old, tall trees where the tree trunks are quite far apart. Near enough to the shores of Falls Lake that you can hike down there for beautiful views. Nicely maintained gravel roads allow wheeling in your gear and firewood. Plenty of picnic tables. Perfect fire pits for groups, with sturdy benches all around. Multiple tall, sturdy hooks for lights or garbage. Just make sure this is the style of camping you're going for. You must be up for the job!”

“Beautiful, breathtaking park. A must-see in Raleigh. Docs to water aren’t private, so you can sit by the water and do work. Nice trail and recreation area. Would recommend for a peaceful day out!”

“I always wanted portraits of my children and I am so glad that I was able to find Sam through a friend. I knew his work was excellent, because I had seen his work of my friend's children. So after researching many other artists, I decided I just had to use Sam. I am so glad that I did now that I have the portraits. He payed so much attention to detail and the colors that I wanted to use and created the most gorgeous portraits of my two kids. I couldn't be happier that he was able to capture my kids at their age and I will forever treasure them.”

“Good for family outing. Fall hike”

“Good spot to bring kids to play and climb. There's a combination of large and small rocks that can be climbed on. Beware - one rock is at least a 40-50 foot straight fall from the edge so supervise little ones. There are also trails along a creek. We saw several large hawks. The only real drawback is that you can hear cars on I-485 which like it's only a half mile away. I didn't see any restroom either.”

“Perfect playground for the overly anxious Mother of a 2 (almost 3) year old. I’ve been to other playgrounds where I constantly can’t see her on the play set and I’m always frantic that my kid is about to plunge to her death with all the high platform openings and zero steps or that she is getting trampled on by the older kids. We can come here and I can actually breathe and not leave with the onset feelings of a heart attack. Only thing that would make ANY playground better is a fence!”

“Such a wonderful campground! My husband and I came for a weekend to get away from the craziness and the hustle and bustle and Poplar Point was too perfect. The sites are really well-spaced out and everything is so clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the trails and lake access are so convenient and clean too! If you are unable to reserve a site ahead of time and have to grab a FF (first come first serve) site like we did, be sure to get there before 5 on Friday to make sure there are sites available because they fill up FAST and there’s a line to check-in. All in all, such a great and beautiful place!!”

“It's the tiniest of places to walk. It's really just a paddle access with a tiny waterfall. Theres a tiny island in the middle of the river there. If you walk up past the paddle access theres a small trail that seems more for beavers than people these days but it is so peaceful,11/10 times you'll be the only person there. A bunch of trees are carved which lets you know people used to walk it more often. Also good spots for fishing and photography”

“Great for birdwatching in the winter. Lots of ducks in the upper part of the lake, south of Old Weaver Rd. And the best part is no motorized boats! So it was pretty quiet the Saturday in January. I haven't been here in the summer but there are a TON of picnic tables and shelters and grills. Looks like a great place to bring everyone for a picnic or cookout. There is also a nice dock for launching canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, or sailboats, with plenty of parking. And a swim beach and a fishing dock or two. Looks like a lot of trails as well. I plan to come back with my family and take some hikes.”

“This is an amazing park with lots of room for social distancing. The playground was amazingly designed with lots to look at and to do. Has a nice trail as well. The only reason why it's a 4 star instead of 5 it because I think the playground needs a deep clean. It has lots of build up and mold it certain places. From what I saw the areas that need the most cleaning are the swings and slides. Other then that it's a wonderful park, cant wait to go back. Also in the summer it has a small play area with water!”

“Well I give it a 5 for being convient. Only thing I would suggest is that the park get a slide. My son really likes the park tho”

“Rental went smooth, got the rig I asked for, no surprise charges, very easy check in and check out. The gal during check in (didn't catch her name, she was back with braids, but I suppose there could be more than one) was super sweet and professional, and did a good job. My only complaint is when I first called the new manager had a bit of a curt tone and seemed stressed. He could take a tip from the Hood River manager (who is always so friendly) on customer service tone in hospitality business. But he did get me the vehicle I wanted which is the most important thing. I would use them again.”

“I enrolled my daughter for art adventure program in January 2021. It is a very safe place for kids i can say. They take all the precautions before entering inside the classroom. The artist Ms. Maureen is not available in person and she gives instructions virtual. But Mr. Brian helps kids beyond expectations. He is so dedicated with each art project. Thanks so much park and recreation and Mr Brian to make it so fun and safe experience specially during this time. God bless you all.”

“Came out for the Dix park disc course. Great long wide open drives. A great nine to follow the short, technical nine at Centennial.”

“Plenty of attractions such as a recreational complex, clean restrooms, accessible parking, huge land mass area to fly a kite, pitch a tent and just relax, playground area, wide open spaces and historical buildings to take pictures by professional photographers. There is a nice venue area to have a wedding, and an area where live events are held. The tract is big enough for bike riding, walking and running.”

“Love this trail! But don't follow the address that Google says. Park your car at Kelly Road Park which is the beginning of the trail. The address that google brings you to a subdivison.”
