“I found this campground 4 years ago and camped here because it was close to the county fair. I have come back every year since. The Staff is great- helpful, accommodating, and always pleasant. My family and I have stayed using the 4 weekend only package so we are not permanent campers. None the less everyone has always been friendly and respectful of one another. This is a decent family oriented, well run, peaceful place to relax and enjoy life. (Even if it is only 4 to 6 weekends a summer) I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the special greeting campers get from Lilly the owner’s beautiful white Golden doodle. ...Truly this place is a Gem in the Mountains... This past year (2018) we got a permanent site. Loved every minute we could spend at the campground. It is late fall now and getting cold. Can't wait for the spring to return. Everyone has been so friendly, just a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.”

“Beautiful spot! Trails weren't well marked and there was a decent amount of wash out but we have had a tremendous amount of rain. All in all a great spot!”

“This is an out of the way park with many picnic tables in the woods surrounding a large lake. There are many trails that I hope to explore when the ice melts off of the trails The park also features a nice playground for the youngsters. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is also a heated restroom as part of the visitors center. I am not sure if they allow overnight camping. I did see at least one boat ramp with ample parking.”

“We enjoy picnicking here. There are lots of picnic tables with small grills, clustered here and there between the trees to give some privacy; also some pavilions. The smaller children enjoy the playground; the older ones, hiking the trails. Several years ago we with extended family, stayed in the yurts (we had all four of them) and enjoyed it very much.”

“I love tuscarora! Always clean and relaxing. No riff raff. Thanx for making beach no smoking area. Always nervous tho about not having life guard on beach.”

“I love hiking the Appalachian Trail... I've been doing it for a little over 10yrs & have hiked it in every state but not completely through. Before I get too old to do the entire Trail (which takes about 9 months at a medium pace) I have plans to do so. I love hiking up to the pentacle and the pulpit. They have some really cool overlooks. Just be careful and mindful of rattlesnakes because they are plentiful in the summer.”

“Can get a little crowded at times when they stock birds over all not a bad place to take the gun or dog for a walk”
