“Today, my wife who is experiencing neurological problems, had an appointment with Dr. Handler. Being in our 70s, we have seen many doctors over the years. Dr. Handler is the BEST, most caring, conscientous doctor we have ever had. He is a total professional who obviously cares in treating patients. Neurological problems are difficult to diagnose as many have no "tests", like blood work, to determine a cause. Dr. Handler covered the spectrum of issues my wife is encountering and gave us his professional opinion as to what we face in the future. I wish all doctors were as dedicated to their profession as Dr. Joseph Handler is!!! I would recommend him to anyone.”

“I have been to VA hospitals in many different states and this one is by far the best. The staff is great in all the clinics that I have been seen. They genuinely care about your health and treat the veterans like the country’s most valuable treasure. It is easy to come here and post a derogatory comment because perhaps something didn’t go my way but that would be an injustice to this VA. I read a stupid comment about doctors being all Hispanics and if you are white you don’t get treated well. This is B.S. I have been here for 2 years now and I have doctors that are black, white, Indian, middle eastern, no Hispanics yet but that is ok. They have all been great. The only thing that keeps me in the Orlando area is this VA. That’s how good it is. One more thing, unless it’s an emergency, opt to have your medication shipped to you. You will receive them in about three days. This is something they have improved on since I registered here. I only tell you this because sometimes the line at the pharmacy can get quite long and it takes a while for the pharmacy to confirm your prescription on the system and you might find yourself making the line 2 or 3 times. If you want to wait for your medication is better to go hang out at the cafeteria for at least 90 minutes and then make the line.”

“I recently had an appointment with Dr. Lago. I'm happy with him. I wasn't impressed with the office but Dr. Lago did take time to talk with me and schedule tests. I can't seem to get one test done - it's been rescheduled 2 times now - because the medical assistant is too busy to send in the authorization form to the hospital for the insurance company. I'm grateful this isn't an emergency and I'm grateful that Ashley, who answers the phone each time I call, is kind and patient with me while I'm frustrated :) She also got the supervisor involved so my issue could be taken care of.”
