“I see a ton of reviews claiming this place has bed bugs, and while I won't dispute the claim that they may have had them in rooms before, I had worked for Holiday Inn Express for 5 years and can tell you we even had a couple times bed bugs were found, they generally get brought by nasty customers, and then get blamed for it. That being said I did not see Any bed bugs or any other bugs for that matter ! I am however only giving the 4 stars because the house keeper actually cleans the rooms, I was amazed at how clean the carpet and stuff was after being in a dump called economy inn in Lexington. While there were things that seemed out of place like the standing lamp with no lamp shade and a chair that the cushion was all but chewed all to pieces yet some of the furniture looked fairly decent , but like I say what impressed me is the fine Job the Housekeeper did with a place that might have only gotten a one or two star review if she hadn't done such a fine Job !”

My sister and I literally laughed the 2 1/2 hours we were there with him for our appointment. (We were just being us and of course it was also everything unorthodox we were planning... Pink Floyd theme...) We wanted to make dad's funeral a celebration of who he was and they truly helped us capture that. Steve even helped up hire a horse and carriage to take dad from the funeral home to the church the next morning. It's exactly what we needed and Steve made everything so easy for us. He was simply awesome and Dad looked unbelievable, as if he were sleeping. I would highly recommend Jakubs & Son for your loved one.”

“Clean, quiet, affordable. When I say clean, I don't mean sparkling, I mean you can sleep at night and not have to worry about any type of pest or critter creeping about your space. The rooms are dated, but clean. Which is very rare to find. And it's not just covered up made to look clean. The property is obviously very well maintained. It's been peaceful, haven't had any problems with the staff, other guests, or even location noise. And the size of the room! The 2 bedroom suite is EXTREMELY spacious. Very generous storage available in the alcove before the restroom. And the mini fridge has a SEPARATE freezer portion, which I think is just too cool. An actual mini freezer:) would definitely recommend and will for sure stay here again.”

My host mother took me to Stanford University before school started and showed me around the Cantor Arts Center and also part of the campus. She also showed me the bus stop I needed to take for school. Both of my host parents also prepared me dinner at least 5 days a week. During dinner time, my host father "educated" me about sports especially in America and I shared him stories and facts about my country in return. This is a brief picture of my experience and I cannot speak for all host families or give a "perfect picture" of what's it like living with a host family.
