“I really like the ease of primitive camping at this site...only downside during labor day weekend were the bugs- lots of spiders chiggers, mosquitoes and flies????- but that's the Illinois river in the summer for you. To avoid bugs, come spring or fall. Kayaking was awesome- my boys loved it ????????????”

“Staff was very accommodating when there was a possibility that our baseball tournament would be cancelled due to the weather. Hotel is clean and quiet. The bar area is small but they have the greatest laid back bartender who was worth every tip we left him. "Restaurant" was okay. Weekend breakfast buffet was good but not piping hot and was slow to be refilled at times. Complimentary coffee in the lobby was good but not available after 9:00 AM. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, and the beds were nice and soft. Hotel has a gas station right next to it and easy access to the freeway. We would definitely stay here again if we have another tournament.”

“A real jewel! On the eastbound return trip from our whirlwind cross country tour, we showed up at 630 PM on a Friday night in August praying we'd get a spot. We did and it's about 3/4 full now. Brand new spots with water and electric. Facility has two dump stations, level paved pass with ample grassy surroundings. Some shady spots available but most are open. There are even 5 equestrian campsites and tent sites separated from vehicular traffic. Dogs allowed but there are breed restrictions and they must remain leashed. You can bring in outside wood but must burn it all. As we approached we didn't think we were in the right area as it seemed industrialized but once we happened upon it we were so so pleasantly surprised. $20 for locals/$35 out of county residents. Note: you drive in and choose your spot first THEN register. Also, no alcohol.”

Pheasant Haven Hunting

Address: 7700 Stewart Rd, Hebron, IL 60034, USA

Park Lodging

“When I came to Pheasant Haven, the first thing I noticed was how large their hunting range was. Now, I'm not an avid hunter or anything so I may not have a lot to compare it to, but they had countless fields with pheasants just running around all over. I did some photography out there, and it wasn't hard at all to find anything to take pictures of, and that's without even having any extra pheasants released. Also, Lee (the owner) is a very friendly guy and seems to enjoy what he does. That's a huge bonus when looking for a place to hunt. From what I heard, they have plans to renovate their club house, so this place seems like it's great place to enjoy some hunting.”
