“I love taking my dog here to go for a walk. The trail is about 2 miles all the way around. There are plenty of spots for a picnic. You can play pretty much any sport here as they have disc golf, soccer fields, football fields, baseball diamonds, and a simple golf course. If you have children, there are playgrounds and there is a restroom that is available in the center of the park. If you want a garden plot but don't have room in your yard or live in apartment, you can garden here as well. This park has something for everyone!”

“Small Park with a short trail that takes you to the Monument. The Monument have a spiral staircase that leads you to a small landing and gorgeous views. You can find hikers in your path since this is part of the Appalachian Trail. The visitor center have a small museum and an attendant. There are some RV spots, grilles and tables for picnic. Plenty of parking space, clean bathrooms and a lot of space for kids to play.”

Paved half and full mile loop around park good for walking and biking - works well for kids as it is relatively flat. Outer path follows a small creek and path has a small covered bridge.”

“Small nature center with snakes and turtles. Located on the property of an old limestone quarry with some old lime kilns. Quarry is now a pond with a small bridge going around part of it. The nature center and Walkersville Community Park make a nice combo day trip in pleasant weather.”

Rock Run Campground

“Delightful secluded campground We stayed for three nights in early June while visiting several sights in the area. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful. We selected a tent site (non-electric) and while it rained the first couple days the site was well drained and we didn’t have many problems with the water. We enjoyed being able to gather sticks and such to supplement our campfire. The site was quite wooded and felt secluded, despite not being too far from homes and regular roads. The restroom facilities were clean and convenient with sinks, toilets, and showers. There is a water spigot on the side of the building. Check-in can be done on your own or with the camp host. A small book exchange and firewood purchase station are also available.”

“Walking the dog there was nice. Flat area where I can exercise after surgery. I was upset that the two teenaged boys in the little blue car threw some sort of round lumpy vegetation onto the play center, smearing it and making a mess. They saw me coming and ran off then put a net of some sort in the car and drove off. You two are not mature enough to be driving if that is how you spend your time. Go clean it up. I would have if I was able. Jim Stockman is frowning.”
