“Definitely price shop - online and in store deals vary and offer different things (e.g., online was significantly cheaper but you have to wait for the card). I got very confused by the staff member in store, but the owner took time to talk me through things. Sounds like one of those companies where corporate and franchise don't communicate very well, but it's the gym that's the point, and that looks well cared for.”

Sawyer is the best personal trainer and you get a free 60 min. personal consult when you sign up! “For me, workout is like meditation and I don't necessarily seek to socialize during that hour. Having said that, when I decided to try out Cross Fit, it was also imperative that the coach is able to pay attention to my form and help me navigate through various routines. So the criteria was somewhat paradoxical. Not to forget, distance from either work or home was important too- since I workout in the middle of the day. With that criteria in mind, I went to a bunch of try-out classes at various CrossFit gyms/boxes with no success. CrossFit Sun was the last in my list - I went to a 5pm class when Mark (the owner) was coaching. He was extremely patient, discussed if I had any goals that I wanted to achieve and walked me through the workouts all the while emphasizing that lack of prior CrossFit experience is not a barrier to fitness. I absolutely enjoyed that class and enrolled the same day. Its been three months since then & Leslie (the noon coach) has been super patient/amazing with me. Although I am not the best version of myself yet, I have definitely learned a lot of exciting new weightlifting, gymnastics and mono-structural workouts. I have also realized my body is capable of so much more than I give it credit for and thanks to my coach and fellow gym-mates in noon class, I also sometimes surpass the invisible limits I set for myself ! There is also an element of community service and sense of belonging in this gym that everyone truly appreciates. So that's a plus if something like that is important to you. All in all, CrossFit Sun is pretty high up in the list of amazing boxes in San Diego county. Highly Recommended !”
