There is a $10 fee to enter the sculpture garden, but in exchange you get a small artwork to take with you, or a credit toward the purchase of a larger piece. There are works by seven different artists displayed. I was amazed, and glad we stopped by. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the prices are not posted, although it was interesting talking with the gentleman there about the artworks while getting the price information.”

Although it is a museum, there are many artifacts just hanging around and jail in upper floors is mostly intact like the way it was when someone was last there. Very creepy but fun to see. “This was an amazing museum to see the history and documentation on Shipbuilding in Maine. Many model ships, lighthouse exhibit, engine works, plus you have all the original buildings that were used to plan, fabricate, and build ships. It was a real eye opener for lobster fishing is a dedicated building. As well as the had a remarkable painters exhibit, Arthur Beaumont. His watercolors are breathtaking. It was so wonderful to see that it has been restored and so many of the Rosenkratz family belongings remain. My sister and I were there in May and were only able to walk the grounds. We went back earlier this month and were able to see the inside. Our Docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the house. What an amazing home it is! And the rumors about George Washington having slept there are true! I only wish that as a child I'd had the courage to knock on Miss Rosenkrantz's door. Who knows, she might have even let me in!”
