“Nice little park. It was good to see the sunshine for the first time in several weeks. There's a lot of little trails that veer of into wilderness. There's A LOT of beaver activity here. Would've given it 5 stars but folks don't seem to pick up their dog's poop for some reason”

“I visited the park for the first time with my dog for a stroll. We enjoyed the long winding path through the manicured park. Bridges crossed wetlands where you could read plaques describing info on animal, flora and fauna you see. There were swings beneath trees to sit and enjoy a respite. Tennis courts, playground, and outdoor workout equipment. Beautiful park and I will be back often.”

“Absolutely huge dog park with more than enough room to run until they're tired. Some shady areas and benches to sit while they play. They also have agility equipment and a training area which I haven't utilized with my little guy yet. He loved it so much I almost had to drag him out. So happy to have this space for him so close to our new home.”

“This was a great campground. Loved the tent spots, right on the water. Bill the gentleman who ran it was Awesome!! He felt bad because mother nature tried to run us off, but we rode it out. He brought us a refund and a home cooked meal. It was amazing. I would give it a higher rating if I could.”

“Walked at Apex Nature Park today. Overall, it’s a beautiful park with some cool things, like tennis courts, soccer field, picket-ball courts, playground. Lots of disc players, so there are signs posted to be aware of flying discs when walking towards the playground from the upper parking lot. We walked on Pine Loop which is only 0.6 miles, and it has some shaded areas and some open areas along the trail. You are also able to access Holly Trail (0.7 miles) from Pine Loop. Pine Loop begins by the soccer field. Holly Trail exits at the upper parking lot, closest to the dog park. The park is dog-friendly. We went today, after a whole day of rain yesterday, and many spots on Pine Loop were flooded. I don’t recommend going after a rainy day if you are planning to explore the trails. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful park!”

“We ended up staying longer than expected while we waited to close on a home. Larry and family were wonderful to meet and get to know. Jeff and Jerald who work for Larry and run the show, on The Hill, are awesome. There were several long term residents, but everyone was super nice and we made a lot of new friends during our stay. My only complaint was no laundry facility (otherwise it’d be 5 stars), but I think one is going to be added soon. Our kids fished, played pool, rode bikes, and stayed busy. The hill driveway was a great place to exercise, and having access to the whole property kept us occupied most days. Overall, incredibly accommodating hosts and nice facilities. It was an eclectic mix of folks while we were there, but all were super helpful and friendly and we are truly glad we had the opportunity to spend so much time with them. We’ll be staying in touch and going back to visit often. Much more laid back here than other campgrounds we’ve been to and we loved that! Highly recommend if you’re looking for off the beaten path and quiet. Its not super fancy like some snobby places we’ve had the misfortune of landing at, but they make you feel like family here and that makes all the difference in our minds.”

“This wasn't always the Great Park it is now. But it's great now! After school care, movies in the park, children's football. What they really really need though is a splash pad, and a dog run!”

“Beautiful short hike in with some little side trails to explore. Once we got to the hot springs, we waited for about an hour for our turn. Unfortunately, the single tubs are still out of service and there is caution tape wrapped all around its building.”

“Beautiful park right in the middle or city. Onr step on the trail and you are in a different world. The subtle sound of the stream, breeze through the canopy of the trees and the light getting filtered through the green of the leaves makes it so serene. Lucky to be a few minutes walk away from the trail, however challenging the days are, one step here in the evening just lifts all the stress away and the fills one with energy to walk around and soak in nature. Met this family of deers on mynlast visit, they were picking an early dinner while I clicked them from a distance🦌🌳”

“Great quick access to the brushy creek trails. There's about 20 parking spots under the bridges. One think to note: I noticed a good deal of broken glass from a window. I'm not saying there's crime happening there, but windows don't typically break themselves lol There's no signs saying you can't fishtail off the pedestrian bridge that spans brushy creek, but it's about 15-18ft off the water so it's not exactly ideal. If you want to try and bank fish most of the bank in inaccessible either due to overgrowth, mud, or a 15ft rock face on one side of the creek. Best bet is go further down and see what you can find 🎣”

“BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL little park! Nice open area with trail that leads around the pond and across the street to the nature trail & at the end of that trail is the huge Gazebo that you can actually call the city and reserve a place for any event you can think of!! (4 out of 5): The park used to be flourishing during the summertime and it seems to have gotten away from the town, they asked people to stop feeding the ducks and so nobody brings their kids to the pond. As for the nature walk, it did just recently get mowed so it does look a lot more and inviting and the tiny section of the pond across the street has now turned a lime green!?! SUGGESTION: The park is in a the perfect place in town for family meetups and you ALL know that the community, especially the kids, would very much enjoy the experience and fun of bringing a piece of bread or two to the park to feed the ducks and the baby ducklings. (Or maybe corn feed) SOooo we should implement that again, until then: 4/5 Happy to have this little gem in our community!”

“What a nice park! I read reviews saying they were unsure what to expect, and I felt exactly the same. Unsure, and then quite happy with it! The small visitor's center provided enough geological and historic information to make the park much more interesting. The trail book provided gave lots of information on both the quarry site and the trees/geological features. We also met a friendly park ranger on one of the trails who gave us an explanation of the different types of mangroves. We did the Windley and Quarry trails as well as the Hammock trail. Lots of sun on the Quarry trail, obviously, more shady on the Hammock trail. The Hammock trail also had more mosquitoes and many large orb weavers. Very cool if you're into that sort of thing.”

“I was quite surprised at the overall friendliness of everyone. Other campers, the staff at the club house. Was my first experience at CoCoJo's. The grounds were clean and well kept. The drives are nice and smooth. The slips are well marked and have fresh limestone. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience.”

“I recently visited Domino Park after a long time, and it was relaxing to sit back and watch the ferries pass by on a beautiful sunny day. The park was quite crowded due to the perfect weather. While dogs are not allowed on the lawn, which may be disappointing for some pet owners, the park does feature some unique playground equipment that sets it apart from others in the area for families with kids. However, there are some areas where the park could be improved. For example, there is no restroom specifically designated for the playground area, which would be more practical. Additionally, the park could benefit from additional shaded areas and seating options. A reliable internet connection would also be beneficial, as many visitors use their devices in the park. Finally, the installation of portable toilets would offer a convenient and easily accessible option for all park-goers. Overall, Domino Park is still a must-visit. However, with a few improvements, it could be even better.”

“I've gone to Emerald Bay multiple years with my sons and their boy scout troop. What a great experience! The staff, facilities and food ("Fruit Punch! Haven't had it? Haven't lived.") are great, but the best part was the focus on living the scout law and extra opportunities than just the merit badge classes. Our troop has loved the values game and the pirate program over the years. We have several "Brigands" and even a couple "Anchormen" now. Also "Ranger Sean!" He remembered our boys by name over several years. If he's not careful he will end up as chief scout executive. Four stars only for two reasons. Difficult to get to and the cost has been prohibitive for some of our scouts. We want all our boys, even the disadvantaged ones, to have these experiences. All our scouts want to keep going back and I understand why. Great job Camp Emerald Bay!”
