“Good park with a nice play structure and a nice view of the ocean. Looks like they are working on building something else in there as well. It is nice that it is enclosed by a giant, cool looking fence. There is also a small path that goes around on the inside. Signs say no pesticides used at the park. No swings and no bathrooms.”

“Lots of interesting sites. I went to take photos and there was no shortage of exciting views and engaging items. Although I was only there for a short time it was fantastic. Watch out for the mud if it's been raining recently. ☺️”

“Very small "park", a plot of land too small for a house yet containing a very large old-growth Douglas Fir tree thriving on it. It's also at the round-about on Avery St.”

“This park is a hidden gem. Nice flat paved trail to walk around the lake and enjoy the ducks and geese. Benches along the way in case you need to rest. There is also a nice covered wooden gazebo to get out of the sun and enjoy a picnic. Fishing is allowed in the lake, but no swimming. Very clean and nicely maintained.”

“This is the perfect local park for those who are just getting into fitness, older adults, or those who just want a little serenity in their daily routine. I love that the trail is pavement since concrete destroys shins and wrecks havoc on our bodies. You should know that you will be circling the trail multiple times in order to get your miles in. I believe it is suppose to be .5 mile for one lap but that’s not what my iWatch registered after the first lap. However, the trail has lots of shade for those hot days so that’s a plus. The only thing I wish the County would’ve done at this park is extend a portion of the trail for those of us who like to run at least 3 miles. Taking the trail towards the water with an overlook spot would have made this park the best option for fitness outings in Fleming Island.”

“Beautiful, large botanical gardens. Wonderful variety of local and exotic floral. You just feel happy walking around this beautiful garden. We spent several hours here, there is ample parking, a nice visitor center with multiple bathrooms on site throughout the gardens. There's a gift shop, and tour guides available. We did speak with several garden employees, all. We're very friendly and knowledgeable about the different species of plants. The garden was very clean, fragrant, and just plain lovely. Went during the summer months early in the morning before it got warm. It did take several hours, and I'm not even sure if we saw it all. There are many maps throughout the gardens to help you navigate grounds, and you do receive a paper copy when you enter through the gate. The gardens itself is very child friendly, with a large children's garden with interactive splash pads and a center. This would definitely be a cool place to take toddlers to spend the day. We took our two school age children and they enjoyed it very much. They had a good time learning about the plants, exploring the grounds, and also viewing the planes taking off on the other side of the gardens. Would recommend bringing some water, wearing good shoes, and spending several hours here to truly explore the whole thing.”

“We don't generally stay in the campgrounds themselves, but up the road just a bit. The campgrounds are nice, they each have their own firepits, conditions permitting, and there is a toilet, not a bathroom but a toilet...imagine an outhouse but with a larger space, wooden walls and concrete floor. It's a dry camp, which means no water. I do believe there is a water spigot of non potable water if I remember correctly, so bring your own water! It's very pretty, lots of trees, a pretty little meadow and creek that runs through it (water is only in it after the snow melts until mid to late August) but the wildlife drinks from it and you can watch them if you stay quiet 🤫 Plenty of trails to hike and exploring to be done! My favorite place to be! This is not a resort! You want to camp, it's your spot! There are spots large enough for a camp trailer if that's how you wanna stay. They are kept clean, but if you stay....you pack it in you pack it out!!! Keep it clean for others to enjoy!! That and you might wake up to critters in your camp!!🦝🐀🐿🐻 From mid August to late October is Deer/Squirrel/Bear season and you will be sharing the mountain with a bunch of hunters...that's where my family and I come in 😉 I just love the clean air, the smell of the trees, the beautiful views and listening to nature!!”

“I lived on this area for over 20 years and never took a hike. I've fished, swam, and took a boat out on the lake but ever took a hike. At my age, I was determined to make it to the hanging rock. My son and I hiked the trail and while it was a little strenuous and challenging at times, I was not disappointed!!!!! The view at the end is spectacular and well worth the trip. I should have done this 30 years ago. What a beautiful place in my own backyard. This is a national treasure and place to be cherished. The park team has done an amazing job on this park and it shows. Can't wait to take on the Moore's Wall trail.”

“The secret garden is by the side of the Ca Zan, and it is the buried place, surrounded by nature, of Mabel and John Ringling and the sister of Mable. There are is a gorgeous small forest of grown bamboo, with the amazing sounds of their canopy clapping together. Very serene”

“Such a sacred place and simply magical. Do yourself a favor and look up the history here before exploring. The trailhead parking is actually before where this lists it so keep that in mind. A great place to visit if you appreciate sacred places and wonderful geological formations. So, glad this area was preserved for the local tribe.”

“Nice park, well maintained. Like other reviews said, the splash pad is slippery! One of my twins fell and cried for a few minutes, not to bad. Recommend water shoes! Bakery ball courts and fields are huge and covered playing area. Bathrooms and Ramadan right near splash pad”

“Actually a really nice little park. It has a well paved path that circles the whole park. Tons of open grassy space, a bunch of trees and shade, plenty of benches, logs, and boulders all over for seating. A couple of play areas for young (Over 5 years) and very young kids (2-5 years). There is even a small volleyball court. Tiny green oasis in the concrete jungle.”

“Not one of the best state parks in the state, but certainly not the worst. The modern feel of the park is a very interesting and well executed take on the style of parks we know and love. The inclusion of both English and Native American history on the land is highly appreciated and a nice touch. The Timberneck House could use a little love and the trails are a bit lacking, but all in all a solid 9/10 park.”
