Halls Creek Woods State Nature Preserve

Address: 3232 Mason Morrow Millgrove Rd, Morrow, OH 45152, USA

“It's a nature preserve, so no animals or bicycles allowed. Rated easy, but the initial steep switchback is NOT easy and does need substantial maintenance due to erosion. Likely was last addressed in 2018. There are not any benches or paved parts, just felled trees to sit on. Once you're up the hill, the pathway is gentle and the sounds and views are serene. It's one of my favorite places to sit and observe nature and my place within it.”

Henry Mill Falls

Address: 6875 Cochran Mill Rd, Palmetto, GA 30268, USA

Park

“Hello, I did not realize this place was part of Cochran Mills park. Now what I did today cause it has been a min. since my last review. I decided I needed to get grounded and travel the trails that are not used as much. These trails are on the left side. I once went down them but ended up turning around and going to my comfortable spot where the falls and water is. There are so many trails here and some of them are deep in the woods. There is camp spots set up but I truly don’t know if they used for camping. It is very pretty back on this side. I went and just laid on the picnic table and closed my eyes and got lost in my thoughts. So many revelations came to me during my walk. I also got to see two deer and two foxes. They were to quick for me to get a picture. The deer just stood and stared at me. Now I am all about the synchronicities and meanings of everything I see. A deer symbolizes gentleness, awareness of surroundings, unconditional love and mindfulness. It also means your spirit guides are watching over you. Now a fox symbolizes intelligence, playfulness, beauty, protection, good luck, increased awareness, seeing through deception, symbolizes pure magic. They are linked to intuition , the gift of claircognizance( clear knowing ) being aware of your energetic boundaries, they can appear in your life to awaken these gifts within you. Trust your inner knowing. I am a believer in everything has a meaning in life and these animals made there presence known for me to see. Deers also symbolize instincts and intuition. It was meant for me to be right there at that precise moment”

This is our spot from here on out!!!! Fantastic experience.”

Town of Amherst Municipal Complex

Address: 500 Smith Rd, East Amherst, NY 14051, USA

“History hidden in plain sight! From 1956 – Dec 1961 these buildings were dedignated BU-09-C and were forward control forming part of the NIKE Anti-Balistic Missle system protecting Buffalo and Niagara Falls from Russia's Cold War Threats. Examine the buildings closely and you will see red lighting and warning horns once deployed to warn of an impending attack. In the undergrowth behind the buildings are the knocked down remains of communication and armory structures distroyed when the Army transfered the property to the Town when the area facilities were made obsolete by longer range systems. The underground launch facility BU-09-L is located about a mile to the North-East at the end of Town Road 4845.”

Walnut Lake Campgrounds

Address: PO Box 83, Jeffersonville, OH 43128, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“I stayed at Walnut Lake for about 2 months from August through the first week of October. I met some good folks the grounds were well kept. The grass was mowed and no trash. 5mph speed limit helps remind you that are kids in this Park. You'll see kids putting around on golf carts, four wheelers, and ATVs . I'd like to think they'll be good drivers from the practice there getting on the graveled roads of the park. I never felt unsafe and I never locked my camper one time. The Labor Day weekend band was great and while there was a lot of folks dancing and drinking an adult beverage or two , no one got out of hand. I never seen the police at the park at anytime during my stay, and I never seen a reason for them to be. I want to give a big shout out to Corn Bread & Happy. God Bless !!!”

Hounds Hollow Dog Park

Address: Bonney Lake, WA 98391, USA

Park

“Was recommended by a couple of people to check it out, as it wasn't too far from where I live. The drive wasn't long, parking was easy. Enough parking when I went mid day on a Saturday. There are stairs to the dog park along with a ramp for anyone who has a disability or strollers. Double gated and rules are posted as you go in. Right away you can go to an open spot that has dog agility equipment (to the right) or to the left you go down a little trail and there is just an open field like area. There, is a gravel tail that follows the fence line, for you and your dog to walk. Also, there are some off trails between the agility area and the open field area. The area is All one level, no worries for hills for any struggles with wheelchairs or strollers. All dogs and humans were really nice. This made working through some bigger dog issues for my smaller dog easy. All that I talked to were really supportive and helpful. Oh and in one post there was mention about no water dishes, when I went, I went prepared just in case, but here were two dishes full of water the whole time. Great visit overall!”

Fourth of July Park

“Super fun, new, modern playground for children of all ages! THESE are the types of playgrounds I enjoy taking my son too! Large, room to run around, up above and down below. Slides everywhere, multiple things to climb on or with. Very creatively layed out playground! Has trees around it for some shade. A cute little brook runs through this park. There’s a secondary smaller playground as well of course, for the little ones to play on. This park is simply beautiful. Love the monument up front honoring all first responders!”
