I love the sound of the water and there are many types of birds and other wildlife. The main dirt trail is well marked and you can also walk on the paved AMERICAN RIVER TRAIL as well. I felt safe walking here alone. You’ll see a few people here and there fishing, riding bikes, hiking or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A great place to go in the spring time in Sacramento!”

“This is a nice place to go enjoy a nice afternoon on the shores or spend the night camping. I am a local so it really convenient and easy for me to grab a place. Feels safe at the site because the rangers make their rounds often. Access to the water from the campsite is not easy so if you are looking to kayak or something, it would be better to drive over.”

“I remember when this park was a dirt construction zone and The neighborhood kids and I would have mud ball wars after school. Good memories of childhood now its a very quiet area with a beautiful green Grass and a nice pathway. No tables unfortunately however come here at night its definitely worth it. You can see stars and no one really bothers you.”

We saw a turtle basking, a spider that stand on the water and some very nice trees and bushes. The boardwalk is good shape and lets you walk on the marsh land. We saw a few dogs, but one person was riding an electric bike on the walk paths which was not cool.”
