Lots of kids to play with...seems like a popular park.”

“What a beautiful place to walk/bike/run . Very well taken care of, casual location and very easy trail for all ages. Large enough if you need a little distance but short enough for little kids (like I have). If you need a chill walk on a Sunday afternoon, try this trail. Fair warning, not a lot of shade so it can get toasty.”

“Great Nature Center right in the heart of the cities. Trails where maintained well and flat for an easy stroll. Lots of great birds - especially water fowl. Also seen a little Muskrat. The trails go through wooded areas, meadows and a great boardwalk cuts through the park. Lots of nice benches to rest on & enjoy the sights. Only downside is one side of the park runs along 35W so it was pretty loud .. but now I know so I will divert next time!”

Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge

Address: 24518 Ranch Rd 1431, Marble Falls, TX 78654, USA

Park

“I visited in early May to attempt to view the Golden-cheeked warbler and Black-capped Vireo. The Headquarters location with the post Oak trail, Pollinator path trail are not available and there is a bird blind I was hoping to visit. I did hike all the other trails at the other locations, which are very nice, over two days with the Doeskin Ranch location being the largest. I was able to see Painted Buntings and other birds and after two days of hiking I stopped at the Shin Oak Observation Deck which doesn't have paths but a very nice deck to sit and look for birds. At this locations I was able to see the Black-capped Vireo (I have included two poor pictures and hope to capture better pictures on my next visit). I wish more of the land was accessible for hiking but I understand they need to restrict access to help the birds. It was to late in the season to see the Golden-cheeked Warbler and will be coming back next year in mid-March to mid April to see if I am able to see this bird. Take binoculars!”

Crawford Woods

Address: 2450 Hancock Ave, Hamilton, OH 45011, USA

Park Amusement park

“Great little park area which have the newer "Jungle Jim" type setup and also settings that are separate in the front with the water pad that's turned on in the summer time. It's nice size and have multiple things to do to keep any an everybody cooled off and covered shelters to stay out of the sun so you don't get burnt!! Does have restrooms and a water fountain for when anyone needs a drink. The back of the park have very pretty scenery and a couple of ball diamonds with dugouts for ball games which go on in the spring-summer time also. They have a little place that sells ball game type food like pop, chips, candy and I do believe hot dogs (not making a promise on the hot food, cause really not to sure on it to be 100%). But all in all is a good place to take your kids for a grill out at one of the shelters just to have a nice day out.”

Address: 10170-10310 Russell Sampson Rd, St Johns, FL 32259, USA

“Nice. Easy. Starts off on what seams to be a road but then turns in to a true hiking trail.. well marked. We went hiking but it's also excellent for trail running. As some have said, there was a small area ~30 ft where it was muddy even though it hasn't rained in days. I imagine the area would be wetter and more extensive during wetter months. Will return.”

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

Address: 6701 W Parker Rd, Plano, TX 75093, USA

Park

“I only walked paved paths, and the changes in elevation and length of the path combined for good exercise. I captured a great view from a lookout and passed multiple fields of flowering plants. This preserve is beautiful and well maintained. I'd like to return to walk the nature paths sometime. Jogging or biking here are also good ideas for those that do either or both. EDIT: I have been here many times since it's the closest of my favorite nature preserves, but I don't love this place anymore and haven't for a while, so I'm rating it 4 stars. My previous paragraph still holds true. The nature paths are nice and would be more enjoyable if the waterways running through the park were high, but nature is to blame for that. There are 3 other nature preserves that I consider significantly more beautiful and challenging in the metro: 1 in southern Dallas and 2 in northwest Fort Worth. Arbor Hills is good in its own right, and it'd be my top recommendation to those that don't want to travel to south Dallas or northwest Fort Worth for a scenic or moderately challenging walk.”
