“I'm not from this area but I stopped with an old friend and we walked the trail, quiet place for walking, running, biking or just chilling. Was a bit breezy mid afternoon but still nice.”

“Cute! Not much parking. Clean and well kept space that’s focused on kids. Next time I’ll have to follow the hiking trail (it looked quite steep and I wasn’t dressed for a sweat).”

“Very nice walk beside the forest, railroads, and through some fields. The trail also has some nice ponds along the way with one lookout bridge over the pond. It was a very quiet walk (except the train passing nearby) without any other people on the walk as well. There is a small parking lot off the side of the road too. PARKING: Please do note that you are supposed to have a hanging tag/permit to park there as part of Butler county metroparks. The permit is free to residents of Butler county and annual permit costs only $15, and locations to purchase said permit are on the website (Not available for purchase at the park!).”

“Great park to take the kids to daily if you can to burn off some energy and interact with kids. My daughter and son both love this park and always make friends/have a great time. Conveniently this park has bathrooms open to public, you have two very good sized party areas, a walking/biking trail, and always a kid favorite is the hill for kids to run up and down. Also has a very good size open grass area that can be used for any sport with the kids. Highly recommend this park.”

“Just 24 minutes from my house. The walking trails were fun, even better on bikes I'm sure. Swimming beach was fun to get our feet wet and kids played in the sand. Season passes are very affordable so we upgraded and can come back anytime this year. Friendly staff and we even got to see one of the bald Eagle pair that's been coming there to mate every winter for ten years!”

“Really coming together nicely. Something new every week seems like. Friendly folks and volunteers with a lot of information shared between everyone. A great place to show the kids how to garden and where food comes from. The community really works together. I enjoyed my time out there today. Can't wait to come back and help out some more.”

“Easy to find trail head in the Manzano's. Had a great network of hikes, so you can customize how far you want to go with loops and various trails. We did the Otero Canyon out and back. Nice gradual trail. No major up and down, good for kids and families.”

“If you're coming to visit the botanical garden, taking a guided tour is a must. There are few descriptive information panels. Mostly only tags with the plant names on them (the red ones indicate endangered species). When you are done with the guided tour, hike up (paved road) to the Waimea Falls for a little dip in the pool at the bottom of the falls. Caution: life vest mandatory, provided by the lifeguard.”

“This is a beautiful area, especially if you just want to get deep into the woods and hear some peace and quiet. The mountain itself is not for the faint of heart. It's a serious hike, so come with adequate water for about 2-3 hours of continuous moderately strenuous exercise. I advise bringing bear spray, or otherwise carrying a defensive weapon. There are absolutely bears on this mountain.”

“The pickleball courts just got renovated I guess and they’re pretty good. There’s a fair amount of courts. Decent players come here T/Th evenings at the moment. Other than that I’ve only seen personal groups playing.”

“It's a nice big park with a nice walking path around it. It also has a couple gazebos with lunch tables under them so there are places to have a picnic. On the weekend it is always busy but we still found a table to eat at on a buys Sunday. There is also a nice small playground for kids to play on. I would be careful around the turtles though because they are snapping turtles and have been know to bite people on occasion.”

“There was a dove here. There was only one dove. I wondered why he looked so sad then I realized he was lonely. I tried to invite other dove but alas there was only one. He was lonesome hence the name of the place. Hopefully soon they can name this place Dove Party Park or at least A Couple of Dove park. Still a nice place. You should go and say hi to Pete. Pete is the Dove there. That’s his name...go see Pete.”
