Mazomanie Oak Barrens State Natural Area

Address: 9749 County Hwy Y, Mazomanie, WI 53560, USA

Park

“I second everything in Jodi Anderson's post. Nice if you are looking to beat the crowds and have soft prarie ground under your feet. Sure some of the trail is a mowed path through the woods, but that part connects the amazing lake/marsh system in the more center of the area. There aren't trails but are paths in which others have slightly worn and can follow if paying attention. Was the only person there for 3 hours!”

There was free rock painting or pay $4 for a bird house (we did bird houses & went to dollar store & bought cheap craft stuff for them to paint) free ice cream on Friday night, free face painting & tattoos Saturday , free pancake breakfast Sunday morning. great memories made!”

Champaign Park

Address: Allen Park, MI 48101, USA

Park

“It's a decently sized, open park conveniently located across the street from a local grocery store and ice cream parlor to easily stock up on summer favorites for planned or impromptu barebue ideas. If you have any hobby aircraft, RC trucks, or need a nice open space to launch fireworks, this is a great park to use. There's plenty of parking space for a large gathering of family and friends, and the area itself is pretty quiet/lowkey. There's usually at least 1 portapotty here, which I thought was pretty convenient considering most of the parks I've been to don't have places to use the restroom unless they're major parks (think Belle Isle in Detroit). There is also a covered area with a few picnic tables.”

The elevators are always broken though 😞, saw someone get stuck in one the other day 🙃. The roaches also have great personalities and the guy in 7133 is like sooooo hot 🥵.”

Liberty Park

Address: 6757 Yankee Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45044, USA

Park

“This park has grass fields with soccer goals. There is a cement walking path, bike path. There appears to be a small pool with a slide, but I am not sure if that is public. There are several benches around the walking path, as well as a Pavillion with about 10 or more picnic tables. There is also a small playground with equipment for children like a slide and see saw. There is one small men's restriom house and one small women's but it is not clear if these were open for use. A water fountain there was not working at the moment.”

Black Point Wildlife Drive

Address: 1989 Scrub Jay Way, Florida, USA

Park

“Long winding drive through scrubby swap land. Clear large lanes, so 2 cars could pass or you could pull over without obstructing traffic. Amazing scenery and wildlife. Will def be back to hike the trail when it gets cooler! Only 10$ a car with full access to trails and water decks. Def recommend a visit at least once....esp for locals!”

Pepi's Playground

Address: W, 807 Silver Beach Rd, Belgium, WI 53004, USA

El Prado Group Campground - Big Sage

Address: Laguna Meadow Rd, Mt Laguna, CA 91948, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“This place is great! Absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of hiking trails with some spectacular views some that overlook the desert (I know a desert view doesn't sound impressive, but believe me when I say, it is indescribable!) and a few more trails that lead to the two nearby lakes, Big Laguna Lake and Little Laguna. All trails are well maintained and relatively flat making them ideal for novice hikers and those with children. The bathroom facilities were the most pristine I have seen an any campgrounds. The camp host were friendly and helpful. Dogs are allowed both in the campground and the nearby trails, but must me kept on a leash at all times. There is potable water for drinking and washing dishes. There are also shower facilities that can be used for a small fee ($1 for 4 minutes) Fires are permitted in fire pits, but you cannot bring your own wood to help avoid the introduction of any foreign insect species. That said the camp host makes several rounds throughout the day with fire wood that can be purchased for $7 a bundle (two bundles last us the night). There is also a nearby general store with basic needs and a small selection of souvenirs. Just down the the street from the store is a restaurant. Admittedly I have never be inside as we were there to camp and get away, but the option is there. All and all, I would highly recommend this location, especially to families with children and pets, but there is something for everyone.”

Wasewagan Camp & Retreat

“We brought our Girl Scout troop here in May of 2017 and had a fantastic time. It was a huge plus for us tired leaders as all the activities and meals were led by the staff. We got to participate and enjoy all the programs with our scouts. All of the staff were so nice and it felt like we were part of a big family. The lodgings were comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. Our girls loved the archery, ropes course, craft time, fishing, fencing, hiking and more. I highly recommend this for troops wanting a weekend camping experience with all the tradition but none of the hassle. A great price for all that is included.”

“This is a fantastic walk especially for little ones who can't handle the miles and miles of trails at other places. Probably goes without being said but not ideal for strollers. There is so much to see and wildlife is all around. While we were there we saw mushrooms, bugs, foliage, trees, structures built by animals and of course some wildlife. Bring bug spray, and a water bottle. Don't forget to stop and read the markers along the way and take a picture by the Moose Tree!”

Ralph E Simmons Wildlife Management Area

“Great spot on the river. A bit of a hike to camping site. However, I Do not recommend for those who are afraid of the dark. Saw and heard very very creepy stuff. In the Middle of the night I swear I heard something that sounded like a screaming banshee and tons of shadow figures. Ghost hunter paranormal hot spot for sure. (Wasn’t expecting that!)”
