“Decent parking (no pass required at our time of visit). Great trail conditions. TRAIL GAINS ~2,000’ very quickly: you’ll get a good sweat going. (Driving to the top is an option, too!) Views from the top are beautiful. Two views, north and south, give great perspective on the whole Puget Sound. Overall about 5 miles and 3 hours around trip if you include the southern view point.”

Hewen’s Creek Park

Address: 6515 Bemis Rd, Ypsilanti Charter Twp, MI 48197, USA

Park

“Not too many people around most of the time. I've seen a few folks fishing and a few on the bike trails. The trails are wonderful and there are lots of them. It's quite easy to get lost in the back 40. I've needed google maps to help me out a couple of times. There are no benches along the trails and some of the trails are quite long. Be prepared, take water, and pay attention to where you are and you'll have a great hike.”

Freeland Park

North Bay Park

Address: 1001 Huron St, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, USA

Park

“I took my parents visited at a foggy morning, not much people around. Trees surrounding the parking lot are colorful. The boardwalk is long and dry, not slippery. The lake looks quiet and calm. We saw Asian carps, swan, gooses, and other birds. There is a hill run down from the pathway to the parking lot, it's a bit challenge for the elder people. Anyway, we enjoyed it a lot.”

Signal Hill Park

Lake Morena County Park

Address: 2550 Lake Morena Dr, Campo, CA 91906, USA

“Stayed here for about a week, ending Thanksgiving am. All sites were clean and maintained. There are no issues with power. Water is on a boil notice, so I filled my tank. Full hookups are available. Camp restrooms have a coin-operated shower. Camp was still open until Wednesday night, Thursday am. It was packed by the time I left. Talked to a couple of the "neighbors," many have been going there multiple times for decades.”

Natural Bridges Tidepools

Address: Santa Cruz, CA 95060, USA

Park

“A friend commented that they felt inspired to bring their nephew to this place to share with them the amazing qualities of such an ecosystem. It’s a great place to walk around, contemplate, and draw inspiration from nature. Well worth the chill of the wind! Do be cautious as it is a bit slippery along this area and one could lose their footing if they are careless.”

Bitter Lake Playfield

Address: 13035 Linden Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133, USA

Park

“Nice place with a little bit of everything there. Playing fields, wading pool, playground, tennis courts and a Community Center. Very relaxing and invigorating place to go alone or to bring your kids!”

Lenoir Preserve

Address: 19 Dudley St, Yonkers, NY 10701, USA

Park

“It's a beautiful well maintained little park. There is a butterfly garden which I'm sure will be nice in the warmer weather (we were there in February). There are also a couple of old homes/mansions but you can only look at them for me outside. It is however, quite small. There is only one trail to walk on and it's less than a mile. Other than a preschool class who are gathered in a little grassy area, they were very few people there on a Monday afternoon. Note: In searching the web before going, I had seen that dogs were not allowed. However that is incorrect. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on leash, they even have stations at the entrance with poop bags.”

Owen County Parks & Recreation

Address: 355 Ellis Rd, Owenton, KY 40359, USA

Park

“I love taking my kids here to play on the playground when it was there. I know they're renovating it but it seems like it's taking forever and now the summer is almost over and we've not been able to have our weekly picnics at the park. I'm sure it will be worth the wait though. The fair for the last couple years has been the best they've ever had. Last summers fair was when it stormed very bad (pretty sure there was a tornado) and we all had to take cover into the pavilion and bathrooms...all ab 100 or more of us men women and kids huddled together for safety. It was a night to remember forever lol. The workers there were professional in getting everyone to safety and themselves. My kids also love the skate park and running up and down the ramps and I love walking the trail.”

Rv park Campground Park Lodging

“We were recently awarded a free 4-day and 3-night stay at Tres Rios Resort, Glen Rose TX. Upon arrival, we were given an appointment for the following morning at 9 a.m. for our 90-minute presentation. The presentation went well, and it began with Katie who explained everything about membership with Ocean Canyon Resorts, and she gave us a tour of the property. It is historical, well kept and quite impressive. We then met Kelly who gave us a detailed breakdown of the overall and long-term value of having a membership. The entire presentation lasted about 90 minutes. After weighing the pros and cons, my husband and I decided that we were not ready to commit to a quick decision, and we declined the offer. Understandably, Katie and Kelly were hoping to make a sale, yet neither made us feel that we were being pressured. We parted ways with a $150 check, as promised, and a certificate for future free nights. We enjoyed the following days camping, touring the grounds, visiting other members, using the amenities, attending the Happy Trails Cowboy Church on site, and seeing what the town of Glen Rose had to offer. Surprisingly, we met many local residents that were members of Tres Rios, and they unintentionally made a pretty convincing sales pitches themselves. This has caused us to reconsider. As we told Katie and Kelly upon leaving, "you'll probably see us again."”
