Cages Bend Recreation Area

Address: 1125 Benders Ferry Rd, Gallatin, TN 37066, USA

Park

“Can't say enough about this campground, it's our favorite so far in our travels. Each site is huge, very scenic and overlooks the lake from most sites, has cheap laundry which was great but only one of each machine, the staff guy in the Welcome Center Hut was so nice and helpful at all times, one thing to take note on is...they DON'T let you "check in" EARLY at all but town is close by to waste time so that was good, bathrooms are clean and exceptable but do need some updating but the handicap bathroom on side of the building is brand new. All in all we can't wait to come back here again in the near future!! Helpful hint though....this campground is ALWAYS FULL, so book your sites in plenty of advance to get a spot. You won't be disappointed, its worth checking it out for yourselves! 🤗😀🌞”

“We stayed on site 324 and it was a very nice site. We were with a larger group so we did not use the site other than for a place for a camper to sit. It was close to the bathhouse which was very clean and well-kept. I am a cyclist and my wife is a runner. We both loved the whole campground because it provided a lot for us to use for exercise. The camp store was nice and had the stuff you may need and some fun stuff to remember your trip there. We collect stickers from campgrounds so it was nice that they had a selection to choose from.”

South Central Park

“I fall in love with this place!!! It is wonderful to meet nature while enjoying with the family. Here you can calmly fish a huge lake surrounded by ducks which can NOT be fed, on the other hand a park for children. This place has an exercise area, mussels to enjoy in this heat, a basketball and tennis court, it also has a path through which your child can enjoy a story all the way, but you can take your pet so that enjoy this unforgettable park. You will not regret it, you sincerely enjoy yourself and receive an exquisite air.”

Volcan Mountain Trailhead

Address: 1107 Farmer Rd, Julian, CA 92036, USA

Park

“Nice hike but make sure you are ready with eyes open. This is a 5 mile out and back with a bit over 1200 vertical feet. Some shade, but a lot of exposure also. Water, sunscreen and good footwear are an absolute must. I think the first 1/2 is the most strenuous but opinions may differ. A great option is to take the main train up and return using the Five Oaks trail which diverges from the main trail and connects again (you can't get lost). Great views from the top from Catalina Island to the Salton Sea.”

Elk Grove Multi Use Trail

Address: 9950 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, USA

“Best walking/biking trail in the city limits. Regularly see Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets. Cormorants, Canadian Honkers, Mallards and Wood Ducks. Almost always spot turtles sunning themselves. Saw a beaver once in the winter. Usually has some other humans enjoying the trail, but it never feels overly crowded. Weekday mornings are definitely the time to go.”

Anderson Center Sculpture Garden

Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA Holiday

Campground Rv park Park Lodging

“We recently stayed here with our converted cargo trailer, and it was a great stay! The campground was clean and facilities well maintained. We don't have a restroom in our camper, so we used the bathroom and showers on site. They were cleaned daily and even had a lock code. They had daily events, but since we were busy sightseeing we didn't get to attend any. The playground was small but clean. Check in process was easy, and they helped accomodate the fact we needed to be able to walk to restrooms but also had a young child so needed further space from highway. We used a white noise machine in our camper, so the road noise didn't bother us much. Traffic is busy on road in front, but we just waited and we were able to easily pull out each time. They had a staff member guide us to our spot, and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend! Was about 45 minute drive to zoo area and 30 minutes to Honeymoon Island State Park. Will definitely be back!”
